Biography

Few DJs and producers can claim as much diversity as Nick Riley and Andi Durrant. Best known as 2 of the UK’s favourite and musically diverse DJs, defying genres and resisting the usual rules of electronic music. They are producers, players and presenters, reaching over half a million people a week on their massively popular radio shows and pulling in crowds of thousands to their events and parties.

MUSIC:
Playing and making a concoction of house, techno, electro, progressive and melodic, their tracks are being supported by a wide cross section of DJs – from underground legends Laurent Garnier and Sander Klienenberg to trance superstars Armin and Tiesto, to house hero’s like Pete Tong and the Swedish House Mafia.

Over the last few years, the boys have remixed a massive amount of tracks for independent and major labels, including the Utah Saints, Chicane, Robbie Rivera, Snow Patrol, K Klass, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Just Jack and Blue Pearl and found their way into sets by DJs like Laidback Luke, Krafty Kuts, Micky Slim, Dave Spoon, Axwell, Armin Van Buuren, Michael Woods and many more. They’ve recently reworked the dance classic “Sunchyme” by Dario G for release on their Electrik Playground label, and about to start work on a top secret side project with a huge festival headlining rock band.

RADIO:
Produced by Nick Riley and the boys own independent production company, Andi Durrant presents 2 of the Capital FM Networks flagship specialist dance programs across the UK every Friday and Saturday night and has been awarded 3 prestigious Sony Awards in the last few years, including a Gold as Britain’s best Music Broadcaster and a silver for Specialist Music Program.

Recent guests and live studio interviews include Groove Armada, Deadmau5, Calvin Harris, Basement Jaxx, Carl Cox, Tiesto, Paul Van Dyk, Steve Angello, Axwell, Pendulum, The Prodigy, Moby and many more

GIGS & LIVE SETS:
In 2010 Riley & Durrant were one of only a handful of acts to be asked to play both the Terrace AND main room at the legendary Amnesia for Cream, and their set at Club Lutz in Vienna back in the spring has become the talk of Austria!

Over summer the boys had a rare run-in with the law when headlining the Galaxy Stage at David Guetta’s massive event at the Royal Highland Centre in Glasgow. 1 hour and 50mins into their closing 2 hour set there was still 500 people trying to get into the tent, so the police “politely requested” that the boys play at least another hour for fears of a riot if they stopped playing.

For the last couple of years the boys returned to their weekly residency at the worlds biggest club to warm up for Tiesto every Monday night at Privilege Ibiza. Alongside providing the alternative sound to the Music Box, Riley & Durrant rocked the legendary main room for 2 hours each week, and played to over 100,000 people over the course of the summer, at the busiest club night on planet earth.

After making their debut into the prestigious DJ Mag Top 150 in 2008, last year they were voted as Britain’s No. 6 in the Data transmission UK DJ Poll, alongside Errol Alkin, Sasha, Digweed and James Zabeila.

No strangers to some of the world’s biggest parties and festivals, Riley & Durrant have rocked the main stages of Creamfields, Gatecrashers Summer Sound System, Godskitchen’s Global Gathering and Fort Dance in St Petersberg, alongside arenas and stadiums across the UK, Russia, Asia and America. Last summer they were among a handful of DJs that played both the main room and terrace at Amnesia in Ibiza for the legendary Cream parties highlighting their true musical diversity.

ELECTRIK PLAYGROUND
Their Electrik Playground brand has had meteoric success over the last 2 years – An ongoing sellout monthly residency at Nocturnal in Sheffield, 4 parties a year at the infamous Ministry of Sound in London, 2 seasons as the exclusive event partner for the Tiesto shows at Privilege in Ibiza as well as numerous one off events at clubs and arenas around the UK. The label, Electrik Playground Music, is now on its 12th release and has gained support from an army of dedicated followers and the tracks can regularly be seen frequenting the charts on the leading download portals.
