My family, my wife, my friends, peace and harmony,the metropolitan madness of the 80ies allthough in the progress of fading, but times of boredom and joy mix up to a romantic and explosive coctail of impressions which i will not forget. what seemed to be 8 hours of live sets in the old chocolate Stollwerk fabric in cologne by Dunkelziffer might as well have been my overreaction as a young youth coming from a smaller town to big bright city light cologne.
The abstract electronics by Cabaret Voltaire and Throbbing Gristle were allways a delight for me.John Peel was the man who cared shit about hipness but allways was,creating his own groove...a man of great dignaty who i was in conatct with and who sadly died some years after he came to Sonar festival to the TRAUM stand..which i missed while being downstairs getting beer for the whole crew.. The Fall..maybe one of my alltime favorites..i will never forget spending a whole day in cologne with Marc E. Smith the day after his gig here..when he appeared to play pool with us..as slack as a person can be ..shooting the white ball through the stained glass window without a motion of his eyebrow. Jeff Mills..the man who reinvented techno..and an honest person, mister Carl Craig with the white barret i did an intervie with in 1999 in Frankfurt...each record he did i had spun..,Richard Hell & the Voidoids+Tom Verlaine and Television,Killing Joke,Playhouse records,Murakami (both of them), James Baldwin, Bret Easton Ellis,Bauhaus (art and music),the english coast,lighthouses,houses with small windows,people with strange faces, Berlin in 1991, Sicili, and certainly... Jacqueline my wife.

I started Djing in 1984 in Cologne and later on electronic dance parties in 1989.
This was a lot of fun and really the only way to enjoy music for me.
I never really was too into selecting people and made things too cool.
I think the 80ies were about the coolness..so techno was much more honest and natural.
I started to look for people that were like minded in the techno scene and this i know is a strange approach for people today but since i was lucky enough not to find too many of them..it made me go in different directions.
I found cool people in the Force Inc posse around Achim which were more interesting than people here in my own town Cologne.
I went to London in 1994 for leading indie magazine SPEX to meet the Aphex Twin and to write an article about the vast emerging Break Beat scene in London together with Sascha Kösch.
I called SPEX magazine one time and really felt i had to express my anger about indie being just based around guitar music and not much else. Yes it was not nice but it got me into writing..
Frontpage was ...cool ..fast..stimulating.
Debug i founded with some friends...and as you kow it is still going..
I loved Pan Sonic and played with them a lot.
I played quite often in the ELEKTRO club in Berlin 1995.. releasing one record on EMD. Later he DJed at the PANASONIC club in Berlin.
I was also resident at EGO club in Düsseldorf and djed a lot in Cologne.
Worked at the Kompakt recordshop, quit in 2004 to concentrate on the labels Traum, Trapez and MBF.
Since then i spend all time developing records with artists, singning new talents, Djing..
spinning internationally..in Japan; Usa,Italy and the UK... occasionally in Berlin and Cologne.
I sometimes make music by myself on the label MBF ltd where i have released 3 records.
But it is not my main interest. I worked together with Dominik Eulberg doing a jesse Somfay remix of "Our Youth ended with broken bottles" on Traum 100 and have done a remix for LCD Soundsystem which should see the light in 2009.
