Single Pass Life is the soundtrack that will one day play in the background of your favourite movie while the bad guy reveals the plan to the helpless individual in white.
Produced by D.W Norton, Rimend's debut EP is a statement of intent from half a tonne of angry young band poised at the beginning of an Atari-style rampage through Australasiaa band whose "paper, rock, metal style" was born in Aotearoa before finding focus in Melbourne with the addition of a second guitar hero and a replacement bass fiend.
Rediscover your love of sticky bar floors and sweaty musicians as Rimend cut a swathe through Australasia supporting the release of "Single Pass Life". Rimend's relentless live show illustrating the unpretentious good-time, loud guitars were always supposed to be.
Also expect to see tracks from "Single Pass Life" appearing on several compilations in the near future, beginning with "Suburban Movement - Volume One", a compilation of heavy Australian talent from Faultline Records.
It's all monster riffage and plenty of tasty double kick when it comes to this debut EP from adopted Melbournians Rimend Translucent, Fragile in particular mixes just the right amount of metal mayhem with tumbling SOAD-ish riffs and arrangements so thickly layered they're symphonic in their anger. - CLEM BASTOW, Impress, Sept 21, 2005
Come help us celebrate the launch of our new EP, Global Warning this Friday 11th December at the Arthouse (Cnr Elizabeth and Queensbury St, Melbourne).
All the bands have a great aggressive sound, so come down and have a beer with us and listen to some kickass bands.
Hello to all, Just thought we'd stop by and say thank you ,to all the awesome bands that have sent in their material which has been aired on the show throughout the years.
We have had an exceptional response through myspace from some of the most talented underground musicians in the world . It is your contribution to our show that show people that there are still actually real musicians out there [and rap is surely not damn music, neither is that techno crap].
Undergroundsounds airs throughout Australia Thursday/Saturdays p.m.
Bands that would like their music aired on any future shows can forward their material to the address below;
