A Humdinger! Damn, they don't make 'em like me any more. If I had another ten men like me I'd turn this couuntry around, I'd show them what's what... What? WHAT?? Makes me proud just lookin' at me standin' there, young and lean and dressed like a fetishist.
As Dudu Pukwana said, "I don't care about...I just want to burn"
Or Ornette Coleman, from Soapsuds, "When I played my music, my saxophone playing was not liked. Some players play their instruments as their tour de force in music. I always try to make music my tour de force, not the instrument."
Or Beckett, "When you're up to your neck in shit, all you can do is sing"
"The more constraints one imposes, the more one frees oneself of the chains that shackle the spirit... the arbitrariness of the constraint only serves to obtain precision of execution." - Igor Stravinsky
"We are the rats that build the labyrinth from which we plan to escape." - Raymond Queneau
Music has kept me healthy and happy for twenty years and I expect it to carry on in this vein for another forty. To keep the quote quota up, Keith Tippett said something once about improvised music being used to heal people sometime in the future, and I quite agree (but I'm not a crank, ok?). I'm one of the most fortunate people I know, in being able to do things I love on a daily basis without undue interference. Then again, let's wait and see (William Burroughs, "The outcome is in doubt.").
Recently I've been having lots of fun playing with the amazing and beautiful percussionist Paul Hession, as well as in the various ensembles I have been playing in. I'm particularly pleased with Home Of The Brave and Stockpot Stopcock makes me happy too. As does community music. Search for The Jam Factory or The Dales Jam to see the sterling work I've achieved in this area.
Hey Boyo...just a quick 'Hi!' I'm out of the Dam and knee deep in Toronto now, soif yer ever in these parts... Might be moving to England next year. Manchester to be precise. Maybe we can make some windy noise. Till then, keep on tootin'. Smiles, Aysha

Please check out our new comedic “vampire bankers” music video. The guy who directed this also directed Madonna’s first music vid. We think it’s pretty funny. It’s available as a free mp3 download on http://www.ukejackson.com
