Wizzdom has been playing drum & bass for a number of years now. His break came back in 2006 when his unique style was picked up by legendary radio station Midlands Rush 92.2fm.
It didn't take many weeks of rinsing it on the radio before local promoters starting mentioning his name and within a few months he was making regular appearances for nights such as Sub:Soundz (Shrewsbury), Bass Camp (Wellington), Unity (Telford), Midlands Rush events, Spektrum (Sub:Soundz & Devotion), Ill-Note (Shrewsbury), Underground Dance (Telford) and other nights.
As he started getting more and more involved in the local scene he wanted to give his (small) hometown of Whitchurch a little something to get people skanking too. That's when he teamed up with Jonty and started Rinsed.
Nowadays Wizzdom lives Manchester and still makes it back to the Midlands to appear at the bigger nights and also enjoys getting involved with the busier scene up north. Since moving in September he has started to appear in main rooms for various Manchester nights including Oh My God, Love Music Hate Racism, UMDNB and smaller one off nights.
Jonty
New up and coming talent in the Shrewsbury area, Jonty has been into the underground dance scene for a while now. Starting off attending many hardcore raves along with Wizzdom and assisting Wizzdom with his sets Jonty began to get an interest not only in listening to underground dance music, but playing it. Buying a few hardcore vinyls he began to experiment with mixing, but eventually found his passion was drum & bass. The sounds you'll hear from Jonty's typical set today will include jump-up anthems and wobbly basslines, a mixture that's always certain to get the crowd worked up!
Relatively new on the scene, Rinsed has been around for almost a year now. Originally starting due to the lack of decent events, let alonde drum & bass, in the small town of Whichurch where Jonty and Wizzdom live, the lads decided that the only way to bring a flavour of this scene into the area was to put on their own 'party'.
Growing in popularity, Rinsed is now a very succesful and popular night and can now be seen as a real 'player' in the midlands drum & bass scene. Now collaborating with the Midlands biggest promoters such as Sub:Soundz, Rinsed is only going to get bigger.
What You Can Expect At Rinsed
At Rinsed our main aim is to make sure the event has friendly vibes and that everyone leaves having really enjoyed themselves. We also try to play a variety of different flavours of drum & bass to shake off the identity of drum & bass being the same, which may not be to everyones taste. Our events are a very refreshing change for your average clubber and drum & bass enthusiast alike. Hopefully we'll see you about soon!
