About me: 10 years of Rio Rock …it seems a long long time, and it is!
With an awesome variety of local and international bands, we’ve written history in the minds of lots of people throughout the years.
It all started in Spring 1998. It were dark ages for the local bands, because there were much too little opportunities for them to show their abilities. Therefore we started with a small gig in the local canteen of F.C. Rio. Rio Rock was born! And it was a success!
Throughout the years, Rio Rock attracted more and more people and became a festival of great value in the Belgian Punk, Metal and Hardcore scene. Many successful national bands such as Circle, Length Of Time, Cornflames, Cast-Down, PN, The Maple Room passed in review, but also bigger international names such as Undeclinable(NET), Backfire(NET), Donots(G), Waterdown(G), 3 Colours Red (UK), Somehow Hollow (USA), Easy Way (POR), Satanic Surfers (SWE), Stretch Arm Strong(USA) and Flyswatter (G) found their way to Ham.
Last year in april we managed to do a reunion show for No fun at all . And it was a hell of a party , 1000 people showed up, and everybody was dancing, singin' along, diving and drinking to make this a very strong edition.
For 2008 , already ignite, Terror , Strung out , Death before Dishonor, Burnthe8track, This is a standoff , Actionmen , The Maple room , Verify, Ruins and billy got spanked have confirmed their visit to Edition 11 from Riorock .
So don't miss this , you will regrett it !!!!

Jongens en dames,ik wil jullie proficiat wensen met de puike organisatie en het vlotte verloop vanalles!!Het invalide podium was op het laatste,zoals verwacht,geen invalide podium meer!!Maar voor de rest petje af!!Enkel jammer van die stroomuitval van het licht tweemaal maar ik denk niet dat jullie er iets aan konden doen!En het tentje zat lekker vol en was gelukkig geen bakoven!!Mij zien jullie alvast volgend jaar terug en wie het gemist heeft heeft dikke pech!!
KRAKOW and THE CEDARS [UK] (exclusive Belgian concert) are two of the three headliners on this year's edition of Absolutely Free Festival (02.08.2008, C-Mine, Genk)!
Also THE LAZY FREELOADERS (winners "Trap Het AFF" contest) have been confirmed. They will open our Mainstage.
