I must confess that I was extremely trashed when I hosted the event in NYC. If I do another one of these things I am going to wear a purple suit and a funky black tie. I will also bring a fine selection of 13 year old freethinkers (tm) with lip piercings.

Plot:

For Matthew Fry, inventor of the 'Sly Guy' haircut, life at the North Pole just isn't what he expected. The elves are far too obsessed with playing Dungeons and Dragons, Frosty has a Hitler mustache made of coal, the reindeer have a tendency of exploding for no apparent reason, and Santa is a piratey mutant with a body made of sausages.

In long enough stretches the dark erases and cleanses everything. Shadowy blackness drains and consumes. It is here in the abysmal nothing that the remembering began.

Eventually, Victor gave up on the boxers and remained naked. I sat down on the bed and grinned, thinking of the coming year, the coming night, the naked man leaning out the window yelling to friends. For I, Augie Schoenberg, 22, fag, aspiring filmmaker at a school without a film school, had been stuck in this mess of a Midwestern college town for four years, and was horribly, utterly single. But all of a sudden in late August with my new roommate Victor Radhakrishna, naked three stories above campus, at one with the obscenity of it, at one with the intimate absurdity of it, at one with each other’s cock and balls (and bare, hairy asses), my mind became flooded with so many gorgeous, heady images that I thought I could start planning my movie, my chef d’oeuvre, my entrance into the artistic world.
After college, I was going to film the story of my life on this sun-rotted Illinois campus and show everyone what it felt like to experience such debauchery, such anticipation, and such freedom. And the sight of Victor’s naked body in front of
me was freedom. It was absolute salvation.

From All Encompassing Trip, by Nicole Del Sesto

In the Beginning ….
Somewhere in Milpitas, Chuckie Rightwing invites Jesus Christ to live in his heart. He does this every day. Thus far J.C. has been extended 8,132 invitations to live in Chuckie’s heart. We’re not sure if Christ hasn’t received Chuckie’s request, or if he just hasn’t RSVP’d yet. Regardless, the invitation stands, and Christ has his own bedroom with a portico, a down comforter and a twelve-inch replica of himself hanging on the cross.
In Berkeley, Devi Demi Dai, a vegan, sits down to a meal of tofu with organic flower petals. She burps, loudly, and thanks the Goddess for the opportunity to purge the toxins from her body. Later, the tofu will give her another kind of gas. She’ll be equally grateful for the cleansing flatulence.
In downtown San Francisco, Kassen Kyle, a medically certified commitment-phobe considers his options for the evening. As usual he has three events to choose from, and three times as many women slated to accompany him. There will be several disappointments.
In Chicago, Oprah films her show. In the woods, a coyote sleeps. In Jamaica, a 7-½ foot tall bald black man is having his entire body covered in tattoos. On television, a Leprechaun dances around his cereal bowl. It’s magically delicious.
A normal day.

Nimbus Lane is a time worn frontage road, blistered and pot-holed and crumbling along the edges. At it’s inception, it was graded to a gradual incline in order to promote drainage during the rainy seasons, however the shifting of the earth and both the abuse and indifference of man and machine has put a sway in it’s once plumb surface that now collects water year round, a shimmering tribute to mosquito larvae and hydro-planing. Once a well seen byway that boasted the garden variety of road side attractions, Nimbus Lane is now separated from the highway by a hulking bramble of once verdant shrubbery turned a mottled brown from decades of over exposure to car emissions. As it does in most locales, night comes to the Beacon gas station on Nimbus Lane like it comes every night, like it came the night before and so it will tomorrow. . . darkness trips the street lamps, the temperature drops, the mechanized rush on the highway settles then comes back to life and settles yet again.
Harold sips on a flat orange soda and takes a greasy bite from a Tahoe Red pickled hot sausage. The vinegar in the snack brings water to his mouth and memories of his mother’s immaculate kitchen to his mind as he watches a glossy gray Isuzu pull up onto the island. His work day barely begun, Harold is already disappointed by it's trifling beginnings.

Laura says Labor Day is the most bittersweet of holidays. As a kid growing up in Canarsie, I dreaded the end of summer, but I also felt the blank sheets in my loose-leaf binders were all potential A's or 100's. By October’s first chill, my papers bloodied with corrections and bad grades – how did I ever become a writer anyway? – I longed for those endless days of July and August. Classes were boring, the days were shorter and grayer, and life generally sucked moose. Eventually I dreaded Labor Day. Even today it makes me uneasy

What should I do with my life?
Babyhuey aka Rob

Nov 16 2006 7:53 AM

I used to think that people who accepted God once they got into deep shit weren't in it for the right reason. Then, I got into deep shit.

Before I got into trouble, I'd always been into prayer. Shit, I used to pray like 20-50 times a day silently and out loud. I'd say, "God, thank you for the health and prosperity of my family, friends, and myself. Please continue to provide good health and prosperity to my family, friends, and myself. Amen."

I think perhaps God knew there was no way he could continue to provide me with good health and prosperity if I didn't get the wake up call I needed.

Thus, he put me in a position where he's the only one that could save me. He right-sized me. He let me know just how insignificant I really am, while at the same time showing me he'd never give up on me. I'm in A LOT of trouble with the law right now, and I've got no one to blame but myself. For the first time in my life, I'm in such deep shit that no human manipulation (besides a presidential pardon...and I don't know that dude) can help me. No connections, no family, no friends, no muscle, no bribes, no dope, no nothin. God layed me flat so that I was looking up at him, and I'm glad he did. I want to make it right with him.

He's the Boss of all Bosses. I forgot that for a while, but now I'm certain of it. Sometimes we need to be reminded. I highly, highly recommend if something is bothering you, get down on your knees and pray about it. Ask God to help you with whatever is bothering you. Ask him for his guidance. He wants a relationship with each and every one of us. He's helping me and he can help you.

I know I get a bit preachy at times, and the last thing I want to do is turn people off to God. I don't want to push my spirituality on you, but I don't mind telling you about it. If you took the time to read this, thank you.

Sincerely,

Robert Long

ps I just want to mention here that although I take my relationship with the Lord very seriously, I don't for a second feel that I'm in any way better than anybody else. I'm still a sinner. We all are. I have trouble with all 7 of the deadly sins on a daily basis.

Wrath...Yup. I get upset over some of the dumbest things. It's never worth it, but still sometimes I do.

Envy...for sure. There's always someone that has more cool stuff or more awesome looking situations happening in their lives. I get jealous over all kinds of things. I shouldn't though. In reality, I should always be more thankful for the good things in my life.

Lust...OF COURSE!!! Like I said in my profile, pretty women make me beat my chest like Tarzan. The Good Lord did such a fine job when he created women that I'm constantly having to put my thoughts in check. When I see a woman that attracts me, I need to just thank the Lord for putting such a beautiful creation before my eyes, and leave it at that.

Pride...Oh ya!!! I'm always thinking about how great I'm doing in my new life without drugs and crime, when in reality I should have never been a criminal or a drug addict to begin with!

Greed...I made a mistake in my last bulletin and left this one out. In it's place I had Sadness. Perhaps that's no coincidence. Having to have more of everything has caused me much sadness.

Gluttony and Sloth...This one's kinda weird. I LOVE to eat and sleep. I honestly don't know how I was ever a tweaker. Meth takes away from both of those things. I'm glad to be in recovery, but I need to be more careful about what and how much I eat, and I probably shouldn't sleep as much as I do.

Anyways, I just wanted to share this with y'all. I highly recommend prayer, and I highly recommend Jesus Christ. I still have a lot to learn about God. I was baptized only months ago, and I'm currently reading the Bible for the first time in my life. Although my faith is relatively young, I know he's working in my life. It's a good feeling.

"The thing that excites me about sex, more than anything, is presence. Knowing someone else is there...sensing the same things I am...that if I say something they're going to hear it. Wondering what they're going to do next... That it's not just my hand down there. That, I think, is the number one reason I can't have sex with a robot."

Prom or Television

Our hearts are sort of conceited;
Our families win decathlons,
Managing a series of hells
Faking locks, riffing off the children, fun secular couples issues,
And Sabbath breakers.

Cult-like Twentieth Century
Resist domineering channels
Went to them both with truce stories
Eric Von Zipper feigns injury so Tommy Kirk
Can meet some bad girls.

Delilah is a cheerleader
With a lunchbox and nice sweater,
Followed by Mike and his sponsors.
Claude's play stays on through Sunday night
And they want to forbid my favorite show, causing anxiety
Cancel my self-hugging.

STREET RAISED's first paragraph:

There were no other cars on the road with the Coupe de Ville, so they were making good time. That was just fine with Esteban – he only wanted to get this little trip over with. He pressed a little harder on the gas pedal and snuck a glance over at his older brother, Beau, lounging in the shotgun seat.

Nov 8 2006 11:59 PM

This is a cyberpunk story about counter-culture and the media:

The giant feathered dinosaurs rampaged across the blackened stage, killing everything in their path. The great beasts were made up like peacocks, beautiful rainbow featherage all aplomb of deep purples and assorted dots of contrasting yellow. A dandy fag of a warm-blooded reptile, self-conscious in its viciousness. Like a human female, its bloodthirst knew no bounds.
