Liz Arnold running Portage Rapid on the Apurimac River, Peru
What is Riverboarding? It's an awesome way to float rivers lying flat on your stomach on a riverboard and fins on your feet. It's similar to bodyboarding or riding a boogie board except you have a handlebar to hold onto and a RipBoard is shaped to protect your upper body down to your hips.
What is a RipBoard? Well, it's a high performance plastic board suitable for river rapids and ocean waves. The board is roughly 2' wide and 3' long, weighing approx 20 lbs. RipBoard riverboards have easy grip handles with a padded chest cavity and arm sockets for maximum protection and comfort.
RipBoard has 3 different riverboard models.
The Racer board is designed for adventure racing, yet it is versatile enough for surf and whitewater. It is the lightest board, weighing 15 lbs. It has a hollow core with 1/8 inch thick plastic walls.
The Classic board is a great all around board. It weighs 22 pounds and has a hollow core with 1/4 inch thick plastic walls
The Gauley board is designed for extreme whitewater & surfing. It weighs 20 pounds and has a foam injected core with 1/8 inch thick plastic walls.
