    ..RIQI Harawira aka MAVRIQ is a singer, songwriter, producer and self confessed music lover. .. 'He's shared the stage with some of the biggest names in the business: Anastasia, Guns 'n' Roses, Pearl Jam, Living Colour, Faith No More – just to name a few'. He was previously the lead guitarist for New Zealand rock band Dead Flowers. His 2006 project TRUREAL blended live music and vocals with DJ-ing to create a funky house sound. TRUREAL's performances in the United States received rave reviews for the innovation of their sound. Now he is flying solo, with his first single being the 2012 versions of 'Gutter Black' featuring Dave McCartney and Sir T. Re-worked and re-mastered, the 2012 adaptation remains true to the original but also delivers a couple of surprises which breathe new life into the song. This song has a very strong personal connection for Riqi, and his message is strong and clear, anyone with courage and faith can rise from the gutter to follow their dreams! Riqi has a sound like no other. Combining his Maori and European roots to create a modern 'Aotearoan' sound for the world. "My live sound is urban electric acoustic, fresh, organic and has a real-ness about it. I approach every song passionately. Adding my own style, reflecting the experiences of my life to create a vibe that is uniquely 'Aotearoan'. Riqi's MySpace page features 11 tracks with the most recent being a sample of his upcoming release 'Gutter Black 2012 featuring Sir T and from some of his past projects post Dead Flowers. Including ..Bold Young Thieves.. (rock funk), ..TRUREAL..
