Dark Tower is a blend between the brutality and speed of the most extreme styles of metal, such as Black and Death, passing through Thrash Metal, with the cadence and the melodies found in the most traditional vein of Metal. The band has guttural vocals, alternated between high harsh and deep growls, and clean vocals, creating a different sound, in comparative with other present Extreme Metal bands.
Speaks, between other several subjects, about the evolution of the human being, as a thinking individual, free of mooring cables imposed by doctrines - that only aim slavery and subservience, of the ancestral culture of several people on the planet, and mainly, the story of "Anne and the Dark Tower”, tale created by its proper integrants, present in the great majority of the lyrics of the band, either narrating chapters of the story, or only using elements background for other trams.
In 2007 the band had its first experience in studio with the release of the single "Thorns of Shadows". Only twenty copies had been made, showing the storm to come...
The Specters played countless gigs on this year, including major events like the "Aliança Negra Fest" which had a special guest band from Germany, the horde called Grafenstein.
In 2008 Dark Tower released its first pressed EP called "Specters’ Arrival", which had support from various Distros, including: Satanicrew, Nihilistic Music and Music Reunion. The band showed in this artifact the real power of its music and had, great impact on the media (until nowadays), and is responsible for several open doors in the scene. On this same year, the band could celebrate the presence on two worldwide remarkable compilations of distribution, and continued the sequence of significant shows in various cities of the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
In 2009, Dark Tower continues with its extensive agenda, with gigs in several states, always reaching out in their appearances and consolidating as one of the brightest hopes of brazilian Extreme Metal. Also in this year, the band was selected to participate in the international competition “W. O. A: Metal Battle”, and won the first phase of the event, took place in Rio de Janeiro. Despite not winning the national phase, the band obtained great reputation on the scene, and many opportunities. The Specters are currently promoting the long-awaited websingle “Lord ov the VastLands”, and are preparing to release Dark Tower’s first full-length album, which is planned for 2010.
