Immigrating to the US from Hungary at the age of 14, Rise frontman/song-writer Istvan Lendvay set his mind on a singular goal, and he pursued that dark musical path from it’s earliest rumblings, through to extensive touring as a live musician with both Behemoth and Vital Remains, and now to the imminent unleashing of his own band’s latest and most viciously compelling gathering of blackened death-metal anthems, Pentagramnation.
Pentagramnation culminates an intensely creative period that brought Rise into the orbit of producer/guitarist James Murphy, who took on both production and mixing roles, as well as Arch Enemy vocalist Angela Gossow and Vital Remains guitarist Dave Suzuki, who along with Murphy lent stunning guest performances to the album’s epic closing track.
Rise in 2009 are a multi-national enclave, featuring Istvan Lendvay (vocals, lead guitar; Hungary), Jaime Vivar (drums; USA), and Johnson Wang (Keys; Taiwan) that’s based in the Los Angeles area in Southern California, where they have shared the stage with such luminaries as Death, At The Gates, Dissection, Vader, Possessed, Dark Funeral, Behemoth, and many others.
Rise are currently seeking to secure a label home for the release of Pentagramnation and future efforts, after which they will concentrate on bringing their formidable live presence to every corner of the metal world...
