Sounds Like
An acoustic whirlwind of fiddle riffs and superb singing layered over a driving rythm. Critics have deemed Rising Gael's music a "Neo-Traditional Hybrid."
..
Peter Tissot presents a strong rythm section on his guitars with the Irish percussion of Jeff Olson. Peter and Jeff establish powerful, innovative grooves that drive Rising Gael’s music.
Katie Dionne electrifies audiences with her gritty bowing and driving rhythms. Katie adds beautiful and commanding fiddle playing to the band's mix. Layered in the vibrant sound of the group is the graceful and technically impressive flute and whistle playing of Erin Ellison. Along with her flute playing, Erin contributes a pure and expressive voice which can energize, haunt, and rock audiences to their core.
Not only do members of the band play multiple instruments, three of the four members have studied Irish step dancing for as long as eleven years. Crowds come to their feet when encouraged by the heart-racing steps dramatically executed by the band.
