Ritmo Suave was originally formed in June 1975 and to this day is managed by Louie Ramirez Sr. At one point and for many years, three brothers played together for many occasions all over Souhern Arizona. (Louie Ramirez on trumpet, Carlos Ramirez on trumpet and Santiago "Jimmy" Ramirez on drums). Over the years many musicans have come and gone and come back again to play in one of the well known local Tejano bands in Tucson, Arizona. Ritmo Suave has also devoted many hours of their time to help raise money for many different charities and causes. One thing that hasn't changed is the sound of Ritmo Suave, they still provide the Original Big Brass Sound of Real Tejano Music.
Ritmo Suave has opened up many dances for famous Tejano recording artists such as Jay Perez, Little Joe, Sunny Ozuna, Ruben Ramos, Bobby Pulido, Jimmy Edwards, Ray Camacho, Ritmo Siete, La Tropa F, Ram Herrera, Jaime y Los Chamacos, Eddie Gonzalez, La Diferenzia and many more famous artists over the years.
Ritmo Suave is the proud recipient of the Raul E. Aguirre Exellence Award for the Promotion of Chicano Music which was awarded to them by Chicanos Por La Causa in 2002.
