A Ritual is a rite, a ceremony…even a sacrament of sorts by definition. This eclectic four piece hailing from Colombo, Sri Lanka are here to make no apologies, have few regrets and plot and plan to take the music industry by its naval and shake and stir it up. Ritual packs one hell of a punch, combining the essence of Rock n' Roll with sophisticated arrangements incorporating Metal, Blues, Jazz and Hard Rock. The band cover a series of lyrical themes which include political and social topics and metaphysical content.
The bands debut performance was at Rock Unplugged on March 11th 2007 organised by Rock Company which was an acoustic performance with Givanke and Randev, the founding members of Ritual. Click on the link below to download that particular performance in mp3 format.

The band had their first full piece electric gig opening for Asian Heavy Metal giants "Stigmata" at their event 'Chaos Invited' on May 20th 2007 with two new member's Thushara (Bass) & Udaya (Drums) joining the fray...
The band, since then continues to play around local clubs and pubs thus exposing the masses to their music.
Ritual was recently interviewed by Young Asia Television's online radio station Ya Waves. The band also performed their original "Mother" live and acoustic at the interview. You can check it out from here -
