Ah, the perks of being a rock star. Eva Langoria pumps gas for the tour bus while you run in for a 48 pack of Red Bull. Staying awake all night watching reruns of Lost on the way to the gig—and then really getting lost. Then you wake up. And you’re staring at a guitar case looking for your Converse All-Stars. This is the band life for the Ritz Murphy Band-a rebirth for Ritz Murphy after singing solo for the last few years.
Somehow Ritz found a bunch of guys from all over the world to put together a band that really rocks. Guitarist Ken Larish from Vancouver, Canada, guitarist Robbie Angelucci from Italy, bassist Bjorn Flauren from Sweden and drummer Kad Drakopolus from Greece. Nothing like a bunch of outlanders to help you out when Google maps is down. The only place these guys get lost is in China (where they apparently have a cult following.)
The debut studio effort for this quintet is a “save me from myself” union of anthemic guitars and restless rhythms. Songs of heartbreak and hope coupled with catchy hooks and a bleeding voice. Just a bunch of good songs to make your day. Stay tuned for the Ritz Murphy Band.
