Rival is a deathcore metalband, hailing from Lommel in the north of Belgium. Most of the band members have been around since 1997. In the early days they had a different band name and different line-up.
With the current line-up, Rival was born in januari 2004 and started playing deathcore metal music. They have recorded their first full demo CD “Declare War” in November 2006 but of course this isn’t enough for them. Rival is constantly writing new songs and it is only since the end of the year 2005 they started gigging live at stages. Some say Rival plays Metalcore, others hear more death metal in their music with maybe punk and hardcore influences….we like to call ourselves Deathcore metal…and its definitly metal!
