Man sollte nicht all zu viele Worte über diese Band verlieren, denn es wird grundsätzlich immer zu viel geredet. Sie lassen einfach ihre Musik für sich sprechen. Dennoch hier einige Randinfos: In vielen verschiedenen Bands waren die beteiligten Musiker dieser energievollen Rockkapelle schon zu Gange, aber was gut ist gehört zusammen, dachten sie sich, und vor knapp zwei Jahren wurde dann RIVAL von Anthony und Ollie gegründet. Es gab anfangs viele Besetzungswechsel an Gitarre und Bass, aber letztendlich kamen durch Ollie dann noch Norbert und Mäx als feste Bandmitglieder dazu. Burnin’ B und DJ Technique machen als Live-Bandmitglieder das Team komplett und geben dem RIVAL Sound den letzten Kick. Das Motto des Sechsers ist ganz einfach: “rocken, roquen, rokken und zwar alles in Schutt und Asche!”. Dadurch, dass die Band aus vier Songwritern besteht, gestaltet sich das Schreiben der Songs relativ einfach und schnell. Nach nur einem Jahr in endgültiger Besetzung hatte man bereits sehr viel Material fertig und heraus kam eine abwechslungsreiche, schweißtreibende Mischung aus geballten Gitarrenriffs, treibenden Grooves, popigen Elementen und äußerst eingängigen Melodien. Leider wurde das Songmaterial bislang nur für eigene Zwecke aufgenommen, aber das sollte sich schon sehr bald ändern. Rolf Beyer, in erster Linie Freund, aber auch Tontechniker und Produzent in den Klangwasser Studios (www.klangwasser.de), wurde durch Anthony auf die Band aufmerksam und beschloss kurzerhand die ersten Recordings der Band selbst in die Hände zu nehmen. Anfang April 2008 entstand dann die erste Demo EP „for a moment“ der Band mit 6 feinen Rocksongs (3 Studioversionen + 3 Proberaumtracks). Mit diesen Aufnahmen und einer energischen Live-Performance gilt es nun die Crowds und die Bühnen der Nation zu erobern. 2008 ist es nun soweit: RIVAL stehen in den Startlöchern und sind bereit das nationale „Rock’n’Roll Music Bizz“ aufzumischen. Der Bandname ist Programm: kompromisslos, direkt aber dennoch emotional! Pure Energie und Aggressivität gepaart mit der richtigen Menge an Melancholie, Spass und dem nötigen handwerklichen Talent kennzeichnen diese Band, die der Sparte „Alternative Rock“ alle Ehre macht. Es bleibt nur noch Eines zu sagen: *RIVAL ROCKS!* People shouldn’t talk too much ‘bout music, just listen to it – music stands for itself but here some short facts about this talented rock band: It’s not the first time that these guys are playing in bands. Anthony, for example, has already played almost 10 years in his former rock band SOULBLIND. “Good things belong together”, Anthony thought two years ago, and founded RIVAL together with Ollie. There’s only one thing the band strictly adheres to while writing their songs: they have to rock, rokk, roque like hell !” This is the only way to create an own style of music and due to the fact that RIVAL consists of four songwriters, songs are written in a pretty short time. It took the band only a year to write lots of songs to fill a whole album with, but unfortunately they’ve recorded their songs only for their private purposes to analyze their work. Their music is a various mixture of heavy guitar riffs combined with extraordinary drum grooves and sweet melodies to sing along with. In April 07 Rolf Beyer, friend, sounding. and producer at the “Klangwasser Studios” (www.klangwasser.de) decided to produce three Rival tracks in his studio cuz he thought that this band has loads of potential. In April 08 the EP “for a moment” was finished with three finely produced rock songs plus three bonus demo tracks. Now it’s show time and the band is ready to start their career in the music bizz in 2008. The name of the band stands for directness, no compromises, great style, good and modern alternative rock music. Shows have been already played successfully and now it’s time to rock the nation.
