About me: Rivertown Con are movie memorabilia, comic book, and toy shows that are held in Grand Rapids, Michigan. These shows will be held 2-3 times a year.
The next show will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2008 from 10 am to 4 pm and will be held at the following location:

935 Park St. SW,
Grand Rapids, Michigan 49504.
These shows will be great places to pick up merchandise around fantasy, science fiction, horror, and action films and comics including comic books, graphic novels, posters, DVD's, action figures, toys, clothing, jewelry, props, and other memorabilia.
Admission is a $2 donation and all the money collected will be used to grow a larger convention in Grand Rapids. People who donate to this cause will receive coupons from participating vendors at the show giving deep discounts at the show.

Meet the 501st Great Lakes Garrison, a volunteer organization with a mission to celebrate the Star Wars movies through the wearing of costumes and props and to contribute to the local community through charity and volunteer work. Make sure to bring your cameras and have pictures shot with them!
Alright... im coming with my friend on the 12th... i have a few questions.. is it an all day thing? like is there enough stuff to do to keep us busy and hang out and talk with everyone?
Also... i have a jedi costume and he has his wizard robe... are there alot of people dressing up or will we just be like standing out in the croud like retards? lol either way ill still dress up... but id just like to be prepared for whats ahea.....
I was hoping to make it up there on the 12th, but it looks like I've been conscripted to help my folks clean their yard. Oh well, they're up around 70, so...

thanks SO MUCH for the comment on my blog. and you're absolutely right. that is why I feel so strongly about it. people take it for granted, while I still get excited each time I go to a show. I realize how lucky we are and I've met so many cool kids down there and I've seen so much unity and acceptance come out of that...I hope to God it won't be lost.
