In the early days of 2010, three Pennsylvania natives and a banjo-wielding Georgia boy took to a Lancaster County kitchen to throw down a sound it wouldn’t soon forget. River Wheel emerged in a week’s time with a full-length album and with formidable energy and aspirations to wind their sound around minds across the country.
Holding a deep reverence for the roots of bluegrass music, River Wheel turns out a sound that is both honest and innovative. They ride a tide running higher and higher with original material, which they perform with a striking collective exuberance.
Guitarist and mandolinist Nick DiSebastian is a current student of Berklee College of Music, as is Kyle Tuttle on the 5-string banjo. Songwriting talent Oliver Craven performs on mandolin, fiddle, and guitar, while Charlie Muench, a current music student of West Chester University, holds down the low end of the 4-piece outfit with a strong hand on the upright bass. Complementing their individual instrumental talents, the four gentlemen of River Wheel soar together in seamless vocal harmony.
“The Sound We Made” is now available.
