Born in West Africa, Riz moved to The Netherlands at age 11 with his family. Growing up in Amsterdam, his love for music was not only apparent, but evident. Like most of his idols, Riz also showed a distinctive talent and finely-tuned finesse for performing at an extraordinarily young age. Early on, he and his voice were already garnering serious attention. Encouraged by his mother, Riz began singing in his church choir and functions, as aspirations to become a bona fide recording artist blossomed. His father however, had far more conservative ideas.

The culmination of which led to, at age 17, being approached by a German Record Label with uncommon interest. Disconcerted at the notion of leaving school prematurely in pursuit of this alternative career, Riz made a promise to his his father that he would put off his musical aspirations until after University and there security of a degree. With  promise in hand, Riz moved to Los Angeles to focus solely on his education. However, he soon found himself drawn in to LA's thriving underground music scene. Yet always fully committed and disciplined, Riz graduated University in 2004. Since then, his main focus has been to perfecthis craft and put together a lexicon of songs boasting his unparalleled talent. Biology and Physics were an easy swap for voice and dance classes.

World traveled and fluent in five languages, Riz has always striven to achieve the pinnacle of everything he embarks on. He would soon join together with music producer extraordinary and former Capitol Records A&R,Roy (Royalty) Hamilton; writer & producer of such smash hits like Stutter for Joe, I Gat That Boom Boom for Britney, numerous hits for R. Kelly, K-Ci & Jojo, NSync and Michael Jackson-to name a few. Together they collaborated on what is sure to be one of Riz's hit singles, 'Sexy Mama' which features platinum rapper Lil' Zane.

Riz soon caught the ears Maurice 'The General' Starr, recipient of over 170 platinum awards and responsible for such iconic bands like New Edition, Menudo and New Kids On The Block. The General has been showcasing Riz to labels ever since. Riz also recently began work with Grammy award winning producer Vassal Benford, recipient of 57 platinum awards.

Riz is a very unique singer/songwriter, come to establish a freshness and singularity in the music industry. With his Afro/European brand of surgically precise lyrics, Riz is soon to be hailed as an unexpected but welcomed break to the music industry norm. His vocal style is reminiscent of a young Mark Morrison seamlessly blended with an Akon/NeYo hybrid.

Through the years, Riz has seen himself grow and flourish as a singer, songwriter, dancer, entertainer and individual. Drawing inspiration from musical greats like Bob Marley, Luther Vandorss, Marvin Gaye and Michael Jackson to current chart topers like Usher, R. Kelly and Sean Paul, Riz brings soundness and substance to the title Prince of R&B.
