RICH OVERTON, CEO Rich Overton, a Boston native, is the force behind RJO Artist Relations & Management in New York City. Operating RJO since 2002, he has promoted, developed and represented many artists including Electro Soul / Dance Queen Billie Ray Martin, Out Award Winning Recording Artist Ari Gold, Indie Songstress Rachael Sage, Dance Star Brian Kent, Billboard AC Chart Topper Kelly King, Singer / Actor Levi Kreis, Songwriter Maria Christensen, Daemon Records' Girlyman, and Broadway Legend Billy Porter. In 1998, Rich began his career as a host on WECB Boston which led to being the very first male host of "Women In Music" in the history of WERS Boston. Here he built the show's popularity by welcoming such artists as Cyndi Lauper, Donna DeLory, Melissa Ferrick, Billie Myers, Lori McKenna, Ferron and Patty Larkin. Around this time, Rich covered and appeared at many events including the Walk For Life at The Esplanade in Boston and the final GLAMAs (Gay & Lesbian American Music Awards) in NYC interviewing many personalities including Michelle Ndegeocello, Luscious Jackson, Danny Pintauro, and the original "I Kissed A Girl" Recording Artist Jill Sobule. This led to opportunities working and gaining experience at Full House Promotions in Massachusetts (Vance Gilbert, Greg Brown), Nettwerk Management (Dido, Sarah McLachlan)in Los Angeles and Virgin Records (Janet Jackson, Nikka Costa, Lenny Kravitz) in Beverly Hills. Moving back East, Rich ran the publicity & booking departments for MPress Records (Rachael Sage) while managing Bisexual activist, pianist and songwriter Skott Freedman. He also worked with Two Sheps That Pass NYC marketing artists such as Groovelily, Mannheim Steamroller and KJ Denhart. Each year Rich works directly with many human rights organizations. Through RJO, he has worked closely with The Reciprocity Foundation, LIGALY (Long Island Gay & Lesbian Youth), Soulforce, Marriage Equality, Bailey House and The Ali Forney Center, which houses homeless LGBT youth. Rich has served on the Board of Directors of OUTMusic, where he has overseen the media relations and inner workings of the organization. The OUTMusic Awards has honored many well-known figures including Jayne County and Dance Music Legend Junior Vasquez. For these efforts and more, Rich received the Qbliss 2008 Empowerment Award for creating change within the LGBT Community.
