RK ParX aka Tylon, by way of Toronto, Markham, Belfast, Lennoxville, and now residing in “The Bridge”, lives by this mantra. Through years of hardships & struggles, RK has persevered, always keeping music closest to his heart, finding that writing songs gave him a form of release from everyday issues. .... Though he's been rappin' for a long minute now, the past year or so has been a time of grindin' & making serious movements.. Working with New Vision Projects Producer Solo R.E.D., RK ParX released two now classic Mixtapes, "Prints of the City" & "The 9th Frame" , as well as performing at various shows & collaborating with other artists... Now RK is back with his newest Mixtape, "Bong Hits & Cereal", and looks to continue his mission for everyone to Know His Name! Get all three Mixtapes for Free @ www.nvprojects.com/downloads.... ............ ....BIOGRAPHY...... .. ....Born in Toronto on August 20th 1985, RK Parx (real name Tyler Bevan) was a normal suburban child, being raised in Brampton. At the age of four he moved to Markham, on the other side of the GTA. RK would spend a large majority of his time there. His first taste of hip hop would occur in elementary school, “I remember in grade 4, I traded Metallica for Nas’ Illmatic and I was sold. Considering my love for rock music, the change was pretty fucking sudden” Parx explains, “one minute I’m rocking out, the next minute I’m listening to stories of things I’ve never heard of. I think it was the rhyming too! Nas was the gateway for me.”.... Pursuing his love of basketball he went to the Philadelphia 76er’s Basketball camp during the summer of ’99. It was there that he first witnessed “freestyling” and an upfront view of the American hip hop culture. “It was crazy being one of the few white people at that camp, but man, being Canadian was even more of a trip to other guys.” Bringing what he had learned about music back with him, he began writing songs. At first it was just a way to pass the time, and seemed easy as he always had a knack for poetry. .... Fast forward to September 2003 where he attended Bishop’s university in Quebec, where he would meet aspiring producer DJ Seabreeze. “He was the one that made me start recording. All we had was a turntable, an old mic and the fruity loops beats that Breeze made. We did a mixtape in like a week.” While the majority of the songs were juvenile freestyles, this would be the start of something bigger..... After leaving Bishop’s University, RK attended Fanshawe College in London where he would meet producer, J Staffz, regular Toronto mc, Sir Lancelot, and rapper Exxxplicit. While recording songs for Exxxplicit, RK went to the studio and observed how to record a song. After a few sessions, he bought a low grade microphone and began experimenting. With the help of Lancelot, he began to hone his skills as a writer. He found that it was easier to understand situations and emotions if he could articulate them into words..... Scottish poet, Robert Louis Steveson said “I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel’s sake. The great affair is to move.” RK says that “travelling is what gives me inspiration. Going to school during summers in Europe was a great experience. Every city I’ve lived in has given me something to think about.” He continues his travels citing that “I’ll stop when I find something worth stopping for”..... 2007 has been a year of productivity. In April, RK teamed up with Producer Solo R.E.D. of New Vision Projects and co-produced a 22 song mixtape titled “Prints of The City” under his Grow House print. At the age of 22, it doesn’t seem like this young man has any plans of taking a break from music, “I love it man, to be totally honest, I do it because I can, not for any other reason. Words come into my head and I put them to a beat. I don’t like to think I am too different from other artists, but I do believe I have a different angle to show and I’m ready to tell everyone what’s on my mind.” .......... .. .......... ..........Support RK PARX & put this banner on your page!..Just Copy & Paste the Code..... ...... .... .. .. .. .. .. ........ .. .. .. ....
