Wow... I'm all over the board with my interests. I like to read (really into the study of ancient religion and theology - although I'm an atheist); I enjoy working out; dancing; my dogs, Aveda and Hunter, my adorable Boston Terriers; hanging out with friends; good food; GREAT wine; bartending; laughter; politics; music; sharks and ocean conservancy... that's all I can think of right now, but if something else comes to mind, I may make periodic updates. :)Music
Music tastes vary greatly depending on my mood... I'm really into Ellis (she's amazing and speaks to my soul with her music and kind spirit) and The Cliks who make my heart beat a little faster, but I also love music from the 80's (alternative to the "hair bands"), Loreena McKennit, Dead Can Dance, Edie Carey, Kym Tuvim, Blue October, Anne Heaton, Patti Griffin, Neil Diamond... I'm all over the board! :)Movies
Movies that make me cry both in sadness and happiness; movies that make me think; and movies that make me sit on the edge of my seat in anticipation. I love psychological thrillers, but not too keen on horror flicks as they seem to be loaded with too much gratuitious gore rather than substantive dialogue and plot lines..... ;)Television
I love the whole Law & Order series... but my fave is SVU (yes, I have a little crush on Mariska Hargitay!) I also enjoy Grey's Anatomy. There are other shows I'll watch, but I don't allow the TV schedule to dictate MY schedule.... Thank goodness for Tivo! I'm always addicted to Shark Week on Discovery and to all the shows investigating the history of religion on the History Channel.Books
The Knights Templar, The Devil's Apocrypha, The Da Vinci Code, The Catch Trap, Anne Rice (from before she found jesus), Where the Sidewalk Ends, The Dead Sea Scrolls, tons of books on Buddhism, Atheism, and religion in general, Harry Potter (of course!)... I have a rather deep rooted addiction to books, so there are really too many to list... :) OH, and I also wrote my first novel. I'm editing it now but finding that it's so intensely personal and difficult to revisit too often, so I'm thinking more about my next novel which I'll start in November (next NaNoWriMo!!). That one will be more fun as it's an adventure loosely based off my travels in Europe. I may be able to go back and finish the other one some day, but the wounds are still a little too painful too much time on it now. Stay tuned though... I'll let ya'll know when I publish. :)Heroes

About me:
One of my best friends, Heath, describes me as gregarious, effervescent, and loquacious. I'd also add to that list that I can be serious, contemplative, and down to earth. :) I definitely love life... I feel such joy most of the time and I always try to embrace that. Sure, I'm human and I have crappy days, but in general, I love to laugh and I love to make others laugh. :) And no matter how rough a day you might have, there's always that spark of joy... sometimes it just needs to be tended to so it grows into a full-fledged inferno!

Who I'd like to meet:
Genuine people... People who value honesty and integrity. People who can laugh and feel joy in life... and also be able to laugh at themselves! I don't care how old I get as long as I can always be a kid inside and always laugh at myself; we should never be to old for that! :) I don't really have a defined list of people whom I'd like to meet... I've met so many wonderful people during my time on this planet... I wouldn't want to diminish the value they have brought to my life and to me as a person by creating a list of people I want to meet... I figure that the people I've met through work, through traveling, through mutual friends, etc. are creating that list as I go. I mean, how do you know you want to meet someone until you've met them? :) I don't tend to idolize folks to much... I'm not "star-struck" by famous people because I think that the people who are in my life are rock stars in their own right. ;)
