I thought I would use this section to write what I am currently learning/playing: Brahams, Gm Rhapsody. Alasdair Nicolson, 42nd Street Stomp. Schubert, Sonata in A. Scriabin, Various Preludes. Janacek, In the Mists. Chopin, Nocturne in Em. Graham Fitkin, Fervent, Carnal plus various others. Caleb Burhans, In Time of Desperation. Charles Griffin, Venacular Dances. John Oliver, Like the Sea at Sunrise. Daniel Felsenfeld, Down in Up to You.
I graduated in music from Dartington College of Arts with a First Class Honous Degree. I am a pianist and violinist/violist. I am particularly interested in contemporary music since studying at Dartington.
Since moving back to Exeter I am a self employed teacher, performer, editor + anything else I can get involved with. I am currently teaching the violin and viola with Exeter Young Strings (www.exeteryoungstrings.org) as well as coaching chamber groups with them. I am also working for Graham Fitkin (www.fitkin.com), inputting his handwritten scores into Sibelius as a result of meeting him during a project in my 3rd year at Dartington. I am involved with some projects with the Youth Company at the Norhtcott Theatre creating workshops and as a rehearsal pianist. I am playing regularly with a number of musicians including Ellie Chandler, with whom I am exploring piano duet repetoire, a newly formed string quartet and South West Camerata.
I am always looking for new music, if you have any you think I might like, please get in touch!
I am currently looking into my options for postgraduate courses and it seems the more I research, the more courses I find that I'd like to do. I will have to make a decision sometime I guess!
