Rocky Mountain Institute of Healing Arts, Inc. was founded in 2001 by Rebecca Mauldin, who was driven to create a massage school where excellence in academics and was combined with opportunities for self exploration, healing, and the development of compassion and mindfulness. Each year, RMIHA offers only one to two sessions, ensuring the highest quality possible for your educational experience. The school regards the spirit and emotions as vitally important aspects of massage therapy, and students are trained to recognize and explore these dimensions of self.
Our graduates score above national and state average on the National Certification Exam for Therapeutic Massage Exam. The caliber of bodywork performed, professionalism, and ethical standards of our graduates make them highly regarded by employers.
Mission: Our mission is to provide the best massage therapy education in the country in a nurturing, supportive environment where the student is the top priority and the values of compassion and self growth guide everything we do.
Corporate Philosophy: Rocky Mountain Institute of Healing Arts, Inc. recognizes that we are an integral member of a greater community. We strive to be the best global citizen we can be, hoping to make our communities stronger and healthier through our service. RMIHA students and teachers have provided over 2000 hours of service to our communities.
Location and Facilities: We are located at 98 Everett Street, Suite F, just south of the thriving downtown business district of Durango, CO. Our facilities include all the things you'd want in a massage school plus a reference library with over 350 titles, administrative office and bookstore.
Durango is a vibrant community in southwest Colorado. It has a vital alternative/holistic health community, plenty of job opportunities and social and recreational activities for students. Durango offers a true Rocky Mountain experience: over 300 days of sunshine per year, hiking, climbing, mountain biking, skiing, rafting and kayaking in our backyard. Area attractions include Durango Mountain Ski Resort, the Animas River, the Durango-Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, and Mesa Verde National Park.
