Music of Bill & Gloria Gaither, Wendy Bagwell and the Sunliters, Imperials, Andre Crouch, Mighty Clouds of Joy, Cathedrals Quartet, Happy Goodmans, and many more southern gospel artist. the Crabb family is so cutting edge and scholars such as John Wesley to John Maxwell. No list would be complete if I didn't mention the "the New Dawn Singers" directed for so many years by John & Ann Blake and now their son Josh.
Raised as a Wesleyan pastor’s kid, many opportunities provided me to experience gospel music of various styles. As I reached high school, my interest in music was peaking. In 1982, I went to college United Wesleyan College, which was in Allentown, Pa. In a four year program, I studied Sacred Music, with performance in voice. I also majored in Youth Ministry. In the summer of 1983, I traveled with the "New Dawn Singers" with our base out of Atlantic City, NJ, we would sing on the boardwalk during the weekdays and in churches on the weekends. The summer of 1984, I traveled for UWC as a member of a four man team singing/ preaching in youth camps throughout Eastern United States. With more experience singing in quartets, mixed groups, and choral groups. After college, I entered the Christian Bookstore industry selling music to moving on into my own business. Throughout the years experiencing the death of a child, divorce in the mid 90’s, remarriage, business success/ failure, illness of a loved one, our home being burnt to the ground, the aftermath of which has been difficult ..Desertion of a mate makes a man left standing wondering. Where is God in all of this?? The process has assured me that God will be faithful to keep which has been committed unto Him.
As you can tell I have enemies ..it ain’t all rosé…for which I trust God to serve out His justice in His time. It takes patience.
Inspite of all, my mind does not wonder far from thinking about my children… My eldest son, Randy, graduated from "Westminister Choir College" in the Spring 2009 and his brother, Adrian, is becoming a fine young man. During this time as a single father, God has also blessed me with the two bravest children in the world, Hannah and Ryan.
I began writing back in the early 1990's. My hearts desire is to share Christ through my music. Lyrically, I want to have songs that help people think and have an edge on them. Songs about life, experiencing God's faithfulness inspite of what life throws at us. Walking by Faith and Not by sight..it’s not easy …yet...There is always HOPE!!!!
Happy Listening......... to quote my Grandmother Murphy "Best To Ya"
