Roadhouse Libra is a band created by Tim Coenen (guitar, vocals, drums) in 1999
originally it was a 1 man project on four track. In 2000 TC recorded a demo 'Corner Penetration' as Timmi Titan together with Pete Pistolero.
At the same time he was drummer of the band Admiral Freebee while Sergej Van Bouwel nowadays the bass player of Absynthe Minded supplied the bass vibrations. Sergej became a member of Roadhouse Libra and also a mindblowing sound engineer and recording wizzard.
In April 2001 Libra recorded the a new demo at Red Castle (Antwerp). Jules 'Juli' Lemmens was the drummer of the jazz ensemble of Sergej and Tim at the Antwerp Jazzstudio and was and still is the one and only drummer of Roadhouse Libra although he also did an American tour with Styrofoam and recently did some gigs with Donkey Diesel. After yet another recording session Rudi Knox came into the picture as the new bassman of the band. In the past Knox was the bassist of the legendary band Sheer Phobia with the astonishing rehearsal workout of five days a week but unfortunately not too many concerts. For a while Tim was a drummer of this band and Chris 'Crazy' Smet the current second guitarist of Libra was also a member. Crazy also played with Styrofoam and has his own band Eggshell. Sergej did the legendary recording of the song 'The River'. With this song Roadhouse Libra won the Demopoll of Studio Brussel. The song also appeared on the Demopoll compilation got the band some airplay on Studio Brussel and Radio 1 and an interview for the Shuffle radioshow. Last summer Tim started drumming with the great band the Go Find which is currently in the process of recording a second album. The Go Find was the support act for the European Tour of the American Analog Set and was blessed with a gifted sound engineer DJ Blaster for all these concerts.
Concertwise Roadhouse Libra was practically the resident band of The nowadays legendary Muziekdoos where bands as Zita Swoon, dEUS and Admiral Freebee learned their skills. Through the years the band played in various venues like Krawietel, Charlatan, Video, Bar Napoleon, Bar 2, Kaaiman, Misantroop, Garage De Krikke, De rits, Kultuurkaffee VUB, Music Village, Krotrock, Bottom Line, JH 't Refrein, Jokot, Ahoy and a couple of festivals.
Musically the set list is almost getting perfect and the vocal harmonies of Crazy and Juli are getting angel like qualities. Knox is surveying the statistics while delivering incredible bass lines, Coenen is exploring the never ending territories of vintage guitar sounds and timeless songs...
