About me:
So a little bit about myself...I'm just an you're average stagehand, tech....I do a little bit of everything but I specialize in lighting. I originally hail from eastern PA where I started my sorted career working as a guitar tech for a local band while I was in Highschool. I progressed from there to a lighting company in NJ...eventually fell into cruise ships where I was the showroom LD...and finally found myself in Las Vegas doing what I love most in the world. I've always enjoyed the humor of the business, and how only we seem to get it...lighting picking on audio(and for obvious reasons), audio and lighting ganging up on video, and riggers just...well riggers, you know who you are. I thought I'd make my small mark on this industry by creating a site that helps us all make fun of ourselves and eachother, RoadieRags.com is a site for all entertainment technical crews and personel. There’s a language that only we seem to understand, a sense of humor that know one else but us really gets…and many many things that need and should be said, if not out loud, then at least on a shirt. We are the few who brave the 6am load in’s, dirty bunk socks, cranky performers/LD’s/Crew leads/local crews, 3hr turnarounds, bad food, and everything else that sucks about show business.
Why do we do it…money, glory, swag, we all have our reasons. Whatever they are, there’s a lot to be laughed at…namely ourselves and those we work with. RoadieRags.com is about adding a bit humor to the gig, nothing more, nothing less…the swag you always wanted!
