i understand, and i appreciate and respect your point of view. But you also have to understand I have a bit of an inside perspective, being in a band and whatnot, and knowing lots of bands and kids in the scene. And i know for a FACT that many of these bands aren't trying, many of these bands are doing everything strategically in order to gain more fans...in other words, they're purposely being generic for the sake of gaining more fans. yes, this always happens, trends always come and go, and there are always copy cat bands that destroy a scene, but that doesn't mean it's okay. it's never pointless to speak your mind, and i feel very strongly about the subject, especially since I'm in the eye of the storm, so to speak.
and just so we're clear, i'm not insulting a specific person, i'm insulting the scene in general and what it has become. i'm not saying people have terrible musical tastes, i'm saying there's so much bullshit out there that people keep buying into, and it's honestly making me lose faith in the music listening community.
close mindedness? really?? if you only knew, my friend. "scene kids" aka deathcore fans are the most close minded kids i've ever experienced in my 11 years of being in this band. they're just getting worse and worse, and there comes a point when something has to be said about it. if you don't hear how redundant and effortless that style of music is, and you don't see how image is held high above actual songwriting, then we're just not on the same page.
