Hitting roadside attractions, winning bar tabs on trivia night, killing plants, shortening my Netflix list, photographing Googie-style motel signs, popping peanut M+Ms like they were candy
Music
Guster, Rilo Kiley, Talking Heads, Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet, Nouvelle Vague, Tori Amos, The Police, The New Pornographers, Neko Case, Jem, Feist, Elvis Costello, The Old 97's, Modest Mouse, Honchie, The Happy Bullets, Badger Badger Badger, They Might Be Giants ... I also have a shameful affinity for '80s hits.
My tastes in music have been going through a transition lately, so I'm open to new stuff.

Books
Most of what I read is for research, but here are a few that come to mind: A Short History of Nearly Everything; To Kill a Mockingbird; The Areas of My Expertise; Stiff; Running With Scissors; Sex, Drugs and Cocoa Puffs; Roadside America; The Radioactive Boy Scout; The Zombie Survival Guide; Cruel Shoes; The Book of Tiki; the A.P. Stylebook; and any trifold from a rack in a motel lobby.
I've spent the last decade seeking unusual roadside attractions in an effort never to squander another summer waiting in theme-park lines holding an $8 lemon slushie. As a result, I've become a photographer, author and graphic designer to support the search. I currently have two books under my belt, the very popular Weird Texas and Weird Arizona. Plus, I'm currently researching Weird Oklahoma, so if you have any leads, let me know.
My hobbies include pressing buttons, singing '80s pop tunes off-key and purchasing needless office supplies. I hope one day to build the world's largest something and maybe open a tiki bar.
I don't much care for sports, country music or dance clubs, which makes it difficult to find kindred spirits in Dallas. I do, however, love a good bar, a quick wit and improvised fun. I also like pop culture, coffee, gadgets, the Discovery Channel, dollar stores, Halloween, Calvin & Hobbes, cold cereal, warm donuts, the sound of large, rounded stones clacking together, old motel signs, bookstores, miniature cupcakes with a buttercream icing that's slightly crisp on the surface, the string around bologna, but not bologna, the words "dubious" and "farrago," pockets, mint chocolate-chip ice cream, fruit pie crust, National Geographic, Andy Goldsworthy, sexy little glasses, anything enlarged to a ridiculous scale, foul language and sidelong glances.
After 15 years Liquid Lizard's album "Down The Hatch" is now on Itunes, Amazon. com and everywhere else you are able to download music. You can either download by the song or the whole album.
Bring your slice of bread up here and help support our show! More Than a Mouthful premieres March 7th at the Eisemann Center in Richardson. And yes, your foxy lady will be performing.
Hello Mr. Treat...(almost sounds like an Ice Cream truck fleet, doesn't it?) I hope you are good. Long time no speak, so, how are things for you? Lanie
