The Road To Rimini was conceived by three friends with a shared love of Dutch Electronix, Italo Disco, Cosmic Disco and Kraut Rock... For nine months the Road To Rimini gestated in the bowels of Below Tokyo. Over the course of which the three friends were joined by four more like minded souls and banded together as the mysterious brotherhood known as the Fratelli Di Rimini. During their subterranean residency the Fratelli honed the Rimini sound as well as welcoming the occasional special guest performance from local luminaries such as Shemale and Darkmode. However, after a year of contending with belligerent sound systems (and doormen) the Fratelli decided it was time to break out of the confines of Below Tokyo and emerge pale skinned and blinking into the crisp night air of the Toon...
Since hanging out with the Eloi the Fratelli have been bringing the Rimini sound to a variety of venues across the Toon. The jewels in the Rimini crown are the quarterly parties that have been put on at the Star & Shadow Cinema showcasing a variety of local talents (Guessmen, Shemale, Fiero Fuxx, Socco Chico, Syphus, Tokyo Acid Cru, Video Dave, 586, Tadge, Warm Digits, The Cylon, Kristian Atkinson, Emergency Librarian), national acts (Heartbreak, Ali Renault, Meschi, Andy Blake, iamelectron, Den Haan, Oppenheimer Analysis) and international robots (Legowelt, DJ TLR, Rob & Zoopsie, Starlight Boyz, J.error, Sneak-Thief, Orgue Electronique, Kobol Electronics, Teslasonic, Gesaffelstein, The Hacker, Rude 66)… all tied together by the sounds and visions of the Fratelli Di Rimini.
In between sorting out their own nights the Fratelli Di Rimini can be found deejaying at various pubs and clubs around Newcastle. At present a random assortment of Fratelli and cohorts can be found deejaying at The Tanners on the last Saturday of the month... WATCH OUT!
La Musica
The music is why we're here... as po-faced chin scratcher Friedrich Nietzsche pointed out... Without music, life would be an error.
