About me:
Currently one of the biggest names on the Bounce scene, Rob Cain has worked his way up from being a relatively unknown DJ to becoming one of the most recognised and respected in only a few years.
Rob has been DJing since 1995 when he started at a young age of 14, mainly being influenced by hardcore DJs Sy & Stu Allan.
After practicing his mixing and scratching (which he’s now known for) for at least 4 hours a day, for years, he finally got a break playing at an under 18s event with his school mate, and fellow scouser Ian Redman (Ultrabeat), in 1997. He then went on to playing numerous hardcore venues, including the then famous ‘North’ event @ ‘The Void’ in Stoke on Trent alongside his good friend and ex ‘Drome’ resident DJ Forze.
Approaching mid 98 and Rob was becoming tired of the hardcore scene and found a new interest in the sound that was known locally as ‘Scouse House’. The DJs he looked up to in this scene Lee Butler, Dave Graham, Alan Holt & Ste Mc gee, all played a varied blend of bouncey tunes with Trance and Piano House. Rob became really into the Sound that was heading out of Holland & Germany at the time by artist such as the ‘Klubbheads’ & ‘Brooklyn Bounce’. This music then went on to become ‘Donk’, as we know it now.
After many great residencies at most of Liverpool’s big Scouse House venues, you can now catch Rob gracing the decks at many a super club all over the UK. Including monthly residencies @ ‘Wigan Pier’, ‘Klubbed Out’, ‘Bounce Heaven’, to name but a few…
You can also catch Rob in the studio, making tracks under the ‘Total Control’ name with pal Chris Clarke (of Dizzy Deejays & 1ne Of a Kind fame). Together they have been slamming out their own unique style of Old School Bounce & NRG for the past 2 years, and are now a well respected artist within the industry.
Rob is also the Scouse House buyer at long established vinyl super shop ‘3 Beat Records’ in Liverpool city centre, where you can occasionally catch him scratching for the fans behind the counter.
