rob strips songs of faith, freedom, hope and inspiration down to an intimate, thought-provoking moment between musician and listener. This album bleeds sincerity.
a rare work of naked honesty of rob's past and the present time. the emotions in these songs will stick in your head for weeks, months and years to come. A blend of acoustic instrumentation with a rock edge.
with lyrics painting a picture drawing from common experiences we all face with the world around us - love, loss, desire & faith but most importantly our hopes & dreams rob offers a blend of acoustic rock songs.
from former angst of being a loud and proud rocker into an acoustic heartfelt singer; it's as if john mellencamp channeled the spirit of neil diamond on rob's debut release. A blend of alternative country rock songs.
combining the harmony of pop with singer-songwriter sensibility and outlining an singer/songwriter rob anthony believes that the true measure of a successful artist is reflected in what he gives back to his community. through his lyrics, rob is able to arouse interest and raise awareness for a number of different causes. ‘down the road’ - a tribute to the men and women in the trucking industry, is a prime example. anthony’s lyrics paint a vivid picture of americana and the struggle that the truckers face in order to keep this great country of ours moving day-to-day. anthony’s desire is to increase appreciation for an industry that is often times overlooked.
although ‘down the road’ has received national attention and become an anthem of sorts in the industry, anthony feels the greatest sense of accomplishment after receiving a heartfelt response like this: “i would just like to commend you on your song. i am a truck driver's wife and when i first heard your song i cried. he (my husband) is one of the many you sing about. you inspired me to look to him as more than just a husband, but as a provider for the world. we are a "family" out on that road and we should all be able to share that heart you have.”
anthony’s soulful style of songwriting comes right from the heart where it exuberates emotion. his lyrics are full of passion and life in a way that can really speak to the whole audience. his honest and truthful personal experiences welcome the listener in (regardless of their musical tastes) and make them feel comfortable and secure.
in addition to the intimate connection that is made with his fans at over 200 live performances every year, rob has also made a connection with a younger audience. he shares the story of his entrepreneurial journey by speaking & performing at middle schools, high schools and colleges. by sharing his experiences, he hopes to inspire & encourage students to follow their dreams.
the music community has a powerful voice that such organizations like special olympics of wisconsin & the american red cross, amongst many others benefit from. in 2008 rob helped raise $100,000 with sowi’s ‘world’s largest truck convoy for special olympics’ by contributing his trucker anthem ‘down the road’. in 2009 rob contributed his song ‘we all need’ to the american red cross’s ‘heroes campaign’ as an incentive to raise awareness and contributions. his continued efforts within the trucking industry using ‘down the road for driver appreciation efforts across the country have not gone unnoticed. rob raises awareness of these missions through social networking on the internet as well as at live performances.
anthony’s journey started off at an early age in an alternative metal band. after several years of touring nationally, rob decided to return to his midwestern roots and focus on songwriting. his debut album “hard to believe” was released in 2000 and received critical acclaim. anthony’s second release “where i belong” in 2004 earned him awards with the wisconsin area music industry including ‘people’s choice artist’ and ‘acoustic artist of the year’. anthony’s third release “inside you inside me” (2006) broke new ground for rob’s entrepreneurial venture. his involvement was based around a song he’d written called 'inside you and inside me' which led to a nationwide video campaign about the power of entrepreneurism. through this song, rob gained the ongoing privilege of helping structure entertainment marketing strategies. also as a result, he was given the opportunity of working with high schools and colleges, using music to encourage and inspire students about the possibilities and power of entrepreneurism.
with his latest release “while the world sleeps” and armed with an acoustic & his soul rob anthony has come to appreciate the directness of the acoustic approach and its ability to help reach an audience. this inaugural acoustic project again finds the singer-songwriter comfortably baring his heart on his sleeve. rob strips songs of faith, freedom, hope and inspiration down to an intimate, thought-provoking moment between musician and listener, a blend of heartfelt acoustic songs featuring 'down the road' an acoustic tribute to truckers who move the world along day to day.
rob anthony’s pure love of music has won the hearts of fans throughout the country.

"this other life that beckons us lets us ride free. it lets us take a part of ourselves to better the world and better our craft. it’s an inner struggle – remembering smiles of those you love under starry skies, longing to be back with them and knowing what you’re doing is making a difference in the world.
just as the road leads you away, though, it brings you back to the things that matter. the same things that got you from city lights to mountaintops and a thousand miles back again.
‘down the road’ is dedicated to the backbone of this country - the men and women who bring everything we need day-to-day and to the families who await there safe return.
we all need champions from the special olympics to show us how to believe in our hopes and dreams. to encourage and inspire us to be the best we can be during some of life's toughest challenges.
