It took years of making lots of left and right turns before I finally found what I was really put on this earth to do... write songs. So I grabbed my pillow and pencil and moved to Nashville where I've found some great co-writers/friends, both here physically and in here in spirit via MySpace. But sometimes when we're crusiing down that wide open highway with the wind in our hair and not a care in the world having found THAT PLACE inside ourselves, God decides to put a little detour sign right there in the middle of that wonderful road you're driving on. So you exit the highway and before you know it, you're off in the middle of who knows where and can't get back to the highway. You know if you keep driving, you will eventually find that highway again... it just might take a little while. I had to exit that highway awhile back and am now a long way away (physically) from Nashville, the place I love. I'm still leaving my profile as being in Nashville because that's where my heart is... and that's where I'll be again when I can find a gas station to get some gas and get this darn GPS navagation system in my car working :-)
Time for a new video... This one was sent to me by a family member (thanks Haz). It's a song recorded by musicians around the world, each person from a different place playing/singing a track for the song. It's pretty cool!
Before you watch it, pause the song playing on my player...

V1 Sarge was in the lead… carryin’ that heavy load As the mission started…on an Afghan road He’d told his men…he didn’t expect much trouble In less than an hour…he was pulled from the rubble He’d stopped ta’ talk…to a group of Afghan kids A car pulled up…he was smilin’ when the blast hit
Chorus An American hero is headin’ home To the glory land where he’s not alone N’… ol’ glory’s never looked so brave N’ as she waves we watch without a fear Cuz’ men like Sarge have gotten us here Even durin’ times she looked a little frayed N’ the sacrifice…that he made N’ the young life…that he gave In amazin’ grace…we get ta’ watch her wave
Hey Rob! Thanks! It was a nice peaceful day. Scott sent me a text message from Iraq and hung out with Tiffany most of the day. Hope all is well in your next of the woods.
Thanks, Rob, for your very kind and thoughtful email to me. It lifted my spirit, and I am humbled by your comments. I think you are great, love your music. Always be my friend . . .
