About me: Well, It all started with a cheep Sears Guitar..growing up on the westside of Abbeville(A-Town)..Flippin hamburgers at Tim's drive inn..poolin up my money with kathleen for albums at brown's thrift city..Kathleen is my oldest sister,i got to see a LOT of concerts with her..I could stay out till after midnight at 10 years old so go figure..I was a paper boy and bought a strat & a fender princeton amp while cuttin up with my runanway best friend In Baytown Texas..My first band was with Ted Tate,Guy Duhon,Kippy Ray LeBlanc, and whatever
Spinal tap drummers were available..My momma..MRS RITA let me do whatever the F*ck I wanted to do..I was a so- so bass player,SO TED says,you need to be the LEAD SINGER!!!!THEY GET ALL THE CHICKS!!!Well guess what..Thanks TED..I was lucky to grow up In a place where there was a Wealth of musical talent..The first band was Visitorz..Ted Tate/Guitar Brent Sagrera/drums Kippy ray LeBlanc/Guy Duhon/guitars and a bass player I only remember as " "Cowboy"from Forked Island..Well the ARMY took 2 of them and the Drummer had a baby..(she is on my top 24 list I love you BRANDI!!) so I went and Rode the BIG waves in the Gulf of Mexico on a Crewboat...I made CAPTAIN in 3 years..wow..Sounds Scary?? you shoulda rode with me..Hehehe Put Whyte Lyghtnyn together with Tommy Bodin/Bass (basin brothers/kevin naquin)Kenny Billeaud,Kippy Ray,Kevin Choate,Mark Henry/guitar,Kevin Henry, Mike Bearb/drums..did some gigs with 24K,Paragon,Gangster,Castle,etc...I did a Short stint in band called WARLOCK with Kelly Keeling of the supergroup Baton Rouge..Then came SPECTRUM..Brent, Tommy,Kenny and I Almost recorded an Album..We had some really good songs,everybody wrote in That band..Tommy Joined The NAVY and Kenny BIlleaud Went AWOL..what a Shame.Brent and I Moved To Orlando fl. with my brother Jason On Bass and Mark Henry on Guitar..Then SPECTRUM MK.III was born with Brent,Myself,Kenny Laque/Guitar,Coby Carriere/Bass we rocked the Shit out of it we had a Good light show,smoke/fog machines,roadies,Soundman,and some good P.A...then came the 90's..Then I got an Offer From DOMINO, Randy James,Mike Broussard/drums Marcus Elizondo/guitar Tracy Menard/Bass, keys,vox Marcus &I had a Duo also on the side...Really started Traveling..working like 200-250 shows a year..a lotta work/party and no Sleep.Got to play With & meet a lot of Musicians.Then Got an offer from CALICO CATS That I couldn't refuse...We Ruled Poets along with Andy Smith,Spank Tha Monkey,Lost Found,CopperMoon In 1996 Calico Cats Played 300+ shows that year.. Festivals,The PINK PONY,(Andy Smith showed me how to drink Jagermeister.Thanks ANDY.)Spinnaker,Schooners,A.J.s In Destin..Sloppy Joe's(Key West,Boca Raton)The Greasy Spoon circuit!!CALICO CATS was Cal Arnold/bass,Kenny Alleman/drums/,Billy Tate/Guitar Phillip Knowlton/Keys,and Myself on Vocals/harmonica/scrubboard..I also got to play with Atchafalaya Reunion Band/Bayou Boys, which was a LOT of FUN..That band was Calico Cats along with Chris Foreman,David Varisco,and they would hire fiddle/ accordion players(Al Berard,Beau Thomas,Danny Collett,Ward Lormand..Etc..)I got to sing about 15+ songs a night and I really got good on harp and rubboard with that band.DOMINO & CALICO CATS changed musicians more frequent than I was used to..Shit,where do i start??Domino,John Frederick/bass/wow what a trip..Roger Blevins/Bass(MingoFishTrap)Man,he was my big brother..then Lynn Boudreaux(Cam Pyle Band)/DRUMS..THIS DUDE is one of the best drummers I played with..CALICO CATS..the most fully functional dysfunctional band I EVER played with,BUT THE BEST Lineup of Musicians I EVER Played With..when Kenny quit,Brian Pitre(CrackerJackson/SpitKup)came in..Then Lynn Boudreaux again on Drums..Billy Quit...Then Pat Bearb,(R.I.P.my Brother)I almost Quit Playing when PAT Died..He had a heart attack onstage in Shreveport and Died at LSU med.center the next day.The World Lost a GREAT GUITAR PLAYER and He was such a nice guy....I got Jamie Kelly in the Band,(GUITAR,VOCALS) and we had a pretty damn good run,but my Heart wasn't in it no more..IF I coulda took some Time off I would/could have continued on, but I was Burnt out/sick of the road,.So I got out of it for about 6 months..Went Fishing...Side of the road fishing,Pecan Island style..Time Off Heals wounds.Wow sounds like a Pity party right??I am my own worst enemy..Too much fun aint no fun at all...I joined a band called Fourplay..Brad Bourgeois,Shep McSpadden,Jackie Demangeaux& Me& Chuckie D..Then Willie Purple.Chuck Leger,Gary LeBlanc(R.I.P)Pappy Dubois..rock bands..Partying mY ASS off like there's no tomorrow. Currently doing a BAND thing again,Todd Stelly,Guitar whizz),,Big Daddy. Steve Morrow Bass) Chris Champagne..Drumzzz))MONKEYWRENCH !!!more to come...stay tuned..
