ROBBIE DANIELS JR. (aka Jer Ber Jones) is from Salt Lake City, Utah, the birthplace of Kentucky Fried Chicken. Robbie is a multi-media artist and musician who has been producing and performing his original works internationally for over 15 years. At age 17, Robbie was both art director and star on The Palladium Dance Party, a weekly Salt Lake City-based performance art television dance show that ran for three seasons on ABC. He was apprentice to performance artist Rachel Rosenthal for 5 years, as well as an founding member of the Rachel Rosenthal Company. He is co-creator, DJ and star performer at the legendary Trannyshack nightclubs held in San Francisco, London, Seattle and Los Angeles, and for two years headlined NYC's longest-running burlesque club, The Slipper Room.
He has performed duets with actress and singer Ann Magnuson; scored four films for adult star Buck Angel; and collaborated with many others, including MoMA'S PS1, Bjork producers MATMOS, NYC club mogul Susanne Bartsch, fashion designers ZALDY and Patricia Fields, MAC Cosmetics, Spelling TV Productions, Roddy Bottum of Faith No More, and sold art to Dead Kennedy's singer and politician Jello Biafra. Robbie's electro-pop song Lotion appeared on the first ever Electroclash CD, which spawned a post-punk, new wave musical movement/fashion scene that spread from NYC to the rest of the world. Lotion was also covered by international super group Scissor Sisters. Robbie recently produced and wrote the original score for the new movie by Jawbreaker director Darren Stein, Color Me Olsen, which premiered at NYC's Tribeca Film Festival. Robbie's film Berdache premiered in May 2007 at the Silverlake Film Festival in Los Angeles, and in September at the San Francisco Underground Film Festival. His annual cabaret TELEKiNESIS is on its eighth straight year.
In late 2007, Robbie licensed his songs "Model For Me" for a Svedka Vodka television commercial.
His "boy" version of Yazoo's hit song "Only You" was released on Discolala Records in France. For sale on iTunes.
Robbie has created music & remixes for Calpernia Addams, Dangerous Muse, Dirty Sanchez, Buck Angel and many more. You can catch Robbie's art in stores throughout Los Angeles including "Pull My Daisy" in Silverlake, and current installations with Douglas Little (DL & Co.) at Maxfield's, Beverly Hills.
