His paintings in black and white mixed with subtle hues of color capture the lines and forms of the tracks and their juxtaposition against soaring building patterns and the sky. Patterns of the building and tracks are used to convey rhythm. The cityscapes are a momentary direction or venue for expression.
“I intend to express thoughts, ideas and dreams through various other forms and mediums. There will be reprisals or returns to this motif as artistic need/expression dictates,” says Don(Robbie) Robbins.
Today he works mostly in acrylic, although he plans some works that will be best expressed in oil and watercolor.
