___________________________
The Art Bank is announcing the "Robbing the Bank" (tm) art series for 2009. This is the second year for the Bohemian style art series and it will again feature Luke Austin Daugherty as the anchor performing artist. Luke will use an improv music style with his core Jam Band and let other performing artists join in to create new music for the night.
The concept for this art series is not only to create new art during the night, but for the artists representing various art mediums [painters, potters, jewelry makers, photographers, singer/songwriters, musicians, poets, etc.] to "rob" ideas by picking up on each other's vibes and being inspired as new art evolves.
The goal of the art series is to bring art to the community in a non-intimidating way and to inspire people of all ages to pursue performing art, visual art and/or literature/poetry. Luke calls it "putting the cookie jar on the bottom shelf"...meaning, making art accessible to all.
The three events this year are scheduled during the First Fridays on Mass. Ave. in May, July and September. These are free events for the public.
This event will be held in the parking lot next to the Art Bank along with inside the gallery. Parking is available along Mass. Ave. next to the Art Bank and in area parking lots.
