Roberta Duchak's debut jazz c.d "Intersections" is available now on www.cdbaby.com
“Intersections” is a beautiful collection of Broadway favorites wrapped in traditional Jazz arrangements. This unique marriage is completely sanctified by the exceptional artistry of Roberta Duchak, one of America’s most accomplished singers and stage actresses. From Cole Porter to John Larson, from Stephen Sondheim to Irving Berlin, “Intersections” redefines what’s “cool” about the Broadway show tune.
Roberta Duchak made her Broadway debut in the musical "Ragtime". Roberta recently finished a 6 month run as Rona Lisa Peretti in “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.” Her National tour credits include playing the Ghost of Christmas Past opposite Richard Chamberlain in Scrooge, Hal Prince’s ShowBoat(Magnolia & Ellie) and Ragtime(Mother). Favorite credits – Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (TATC), Come fly With Me (Mercury Theatre), Ain’t Nothin But the Blues (Northlight Theatre), And the world goes Round(Drury Lane),
Cats (Jellylorum), Swing(singer) ,State Fair(Emily Arden) The Taffetas(Cheryl) at the Marriott, Janet Weiss in The Rocky Horror Show (CCPA), Lady Capulet in The Second City’s Romeo and Juliet(Chicago Shakespeare), Irene Malloy in Hello Dolly (Skylight Opera),The Visit(Goodman Theatre).
She was a featured soloist at the prestigious Ravinia Festival as well as in their musical concerts, Sunday in the Park with George(Frieda) and A Little Night Music (Liebeslieder).
Roberta is currently on the National Tour of "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" playing the vivacious Rona Lisa Peretti! Check out www.spellingbeethemusical.com for cities and dates!

Displaying impressive range and control, this is a singer that fans of female vocal jazz will want to get to know. Despite her incredible technique, Duchak’s voice expresses personality nicely without the over-affectation that so many vocalists suffer from. Fans of such singers as Jane Monheit should give this CD a spin. I know I am looking forward to hearing more from this talented lady in the future.
The songs run the gamut of emotions from the sorrowful to the upbeat, with the over-the-top Latin take on "Raise the Roof," perhaps the show stopper of the album. But the quieter moments appeal as well as on "Whoever You Are, I Love You," and Duchak shows she can belt out the blues as well on "What You Don’t Know About Women."
Song choices and production/playing aside, it is Duchak's stunning voice that really rockets this album into the stratosphere.
