Twenty five year old Dublin born singer/ songwriter Roberta Howett came onto the international music scene in 2004 when she was one of a select few to be chosen as a finalist to compete live on The X-Factor. Managed by Sharon Osbourne, Roberta was also afforded the opportunity to perform on an arena tour around the UK, including Wembley arena, and the Manchester arena.
Roberta's musical background began at an early age and is grounded in classical training.
Her passion for performing led her to sing in many venues around Ireland, including Bar Number Five, an exclusive Dublin Jazz venue.
After competing on X-Factor, Roberta was encouraged to move to London as she began working with UK based producers.
In April of this year Roberta sang her breakthrough vocal ballad Shadows, live on Ireland's well known TV3 station. Shadows has also recently been play-listed on Dublin's Q102 radio station as well as on their sister stations in Limerick and Cork.
Roberta has recently moved back to Ireland. Having studied at the Method Centre in London for the past year, under Brian Timoney, she devoloped her skills in acting. Roberta landed many lead parts in theatre productions including the part of 'Alison' in John Osbourne's 'Look Back in Anger', 'Girl' in Hemingway's 'Hills Like White Elephants', and 'Nina' in 'Truly Madly Deeply'.
It's been awhile since we last spoke and I just wanted to stop by and send my sincere best wishes. I'd really like to begin running your songs on my site and possibly my upcoming radio show if you're cool with that. Let me know.
Thank you for the add!!I enjoy your songs and your wonderful voice!I like your list of influences. Karen Carpenter would have been proud of your performance of her song on X Factor! Is that you doing backup vocals on your originals?
