About me: New Jersey born clinical psychologist Roberta Isleib took up writing golf mysteries to justify time spent on the links. Her first series, featuring a neurotic professional golfer and a sports psychologist, was nominated for both Agatha and Anthony awards.
The second book in Roberta's new series starring a Connecticut psychologist/advice columnist is now available from Berkley Prime Crime: PREACHING TO THE CORPSE, following the March release, DEADLY ADVICE. ASKING FOR MURDER will be released in September 2008.
She has published articles in Women's World of Golf, Golf for Women, Tee Time Magazine, Mystery Scene, and National Golfer. Her short stories have been published in Mysterical-E, Handheldcrime.com, RIPTIDE, and the upcoming Level Best anthology, SEASMOKE.
Roberta is the president of National Sisters in Crime and the past president of the New England chapter. She lives with her family in Connecticut.
Who I'd like to meet: Readers, writers, booksellers, librarians: anyone who loves books is a friend of mine!
You have surely heard about the tragic death of a brave young woman who was murdered in Iran just for peacefully protesting with her father on the streets of Teheran.
Mothers and daughters; what greater love can one find, than the love a mother gives.
I am blessed to have had a truly WONDERFUL mother and grandmother. My memories of growing up are ‘truly special,’ as my mother and I had such a close relationship.
I remember, even as a small child, always looking into my mother’s eyes and seeing unconditional love. I knew if I was in her arms, or just talked to her, all my fears and pain would fade away…like a ‘magical potion’ had erased any hurt the world could give.
I always thought my mother was the ‘most beautiful’ woman I have ‘ever’ known, both inside and out.
My mother was a wonderful artist, and we spent many hours sitting and drawing together, even when I was an adult. We could talk about everything and anything…as we shared in a ‘VERY SPECIAL BOND,’ as understood one another.
The words of wisdom she imparted have remained with me to this day. For she ‘always’ advised me what she ‘knew’ to be best, as no one has ever known me as well.
TODAY is a day to celebrate mothers…so if you are far away, or if you had an arguments, don’t let that keep you from doing something ‘special’ for her, as the time you have with her is short…and you may never get another opportunity to tell her, “HOW MUCH YOU LOVE HER!”
My mother passed away 23 years ago…and I wish today, I could tell her just HOW MUCH LOVE I will ALWAYS hold in my heart for her….

A gift to you... This is a recipe for a full and satisfying life:
Take quiet time in the morning. Drink lots of water. Eat at least three times a day. Smile a lot. Love your body and use it everyday. Respect and be with nature. Be kind and practice seeing people in a positive light. Give something good back to the world everyday. Thank someone, God and/or the universe at least once a day. Get enough sleep. Have big dreams about yourself. Add here what you need everyday - your special ingredient - a laugh, a conversation with a friend ... or?
This recipe can be reused indefinitely. It will always have a unique flavor based on the day.

When a mind has only light, it knows only light. Its own radiance shines all around it, and extends out into the darkness of other minds, transforming them into majesty. The Majesty of God is there, for you to recognize and appreciate and know. Recognizing the Majesty of God as your brother is to accept your own inheritance. A Course in Miracles.
