Guitar guitar guitar........cosmic meanderings.......spontaneous combustion....improvisational art............decompositions....looose.........searching.....I'm 35 and have played various instruments over the years including percussion, trombone...piano....electric bass(fretless), upright bass(although due to physical limitations had to abandon)....sitar.....tablas....dulcimer....and brief stints on others........I am physically limited due to a spinal chord(haha) injury and have found that the most efficient and proficient way for me to play electric guitar is with both hands on the fretboard......it is less aggravating to my injuries and it allows me to incorporate both sides of my brain onto the fretboard.....often playing multiple parts at one time.....this technique is a recent aquisition and this only makes sense in that i am ambidexterous and dyslexic on one side so i am able to go in several directions at once....this to me is a good thing although many people would disagree......I'm just trying to be me at the most sincere level that i can.........and create art with meaning....containing some aspect of inspiration.......although my tunes arent well composed(quite the contrary) a great deal of thought and emotion go into each track........new tracks added weekly.......GIMME A GIG! Drop me a line if you dig.......And i do listen to music of anyone that im friends with...I know a lot of artists don't but for me its just the right thing to do...I mean I just now discovered Ray Russell....a superb guitarist!
I dont gig beacuse where I live the only gigs I can get are playing for the local wildlife...which I do often and it is actually quite rewarding....I know that Eric Dolphy would play flute with the birds....something that i would have loved to have heard!........I had a local rabbit that was quite fascinated with my bass playing last summer.
My hope is to work with a producer who can help shape my work into something more structured....Even the great Jaco Pastorius had to be taught how to compose music......For me right now anything preplanned or premeditated just seems pretentious and loses the spontanaety......I play much much better WITH an audience and other similar minded musicians and i hope to incorporate these into my recordings at some point.....Right now I'm leaning toward less multitracking and focusing on just singular guitar tracks....The two handed fretting approach is allowing me to play the multiple parts and is keeping me more restrained...I had a DREAM recently that i was with my grandmother Alice(who passed)....I was in a room filled with strange looking musical instruments....I approached one and began to play it.....there was no mental blockage or physical limitations....It was total FREEDOM!.....It must have been a dream because i've never played like that in awake life...........Every time I play my hope is to recapture what I heard in that dream(albeit very unsuccesfully)...oh well!.......... El anciano ya no llorará más tiempo, ahora es un cadaver que ya no se estremece al ver llegar a su nieta.
Su palidez ya es irreversible y monstruosa. Todos lloran alrededor del difunto derramando sus lágrimas en muestra de dolor.
El cuerpo del anciano está ya anquilosado, rígido por la muerte, pero él sigue su rumbo. Se encuentra extraño, nota como se eleva de su cuerpo y mira desde el techo la escena. De pronto escucha una voz que desde todas partes lo llama en silencio y sabe que una nueva etapa ha comenzado.
Las esperanzas hacen más llevadero lo irreversible ....
