ADDENDUM- MARCH 12, 2008: WE’VE GOT A LOT OF EXCITING PROJECTS IN THE WORKS!! BEEN SUPER BUSY, SO I’M ONLY ON MYSPACE EVERY COUPLE WEEKS THESE DAYS- BUT I’LL TRY MY BEST TO STAY IN TOUCH- CAN’T WAIT TO FILL EVERYONE IN ON ALL OF OUR LATEST DEVELOPMENTS! ALL THE BEST TO EVERYBODY!-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I sing Elvis songs. A lot. But that’s not all! I also work full-time as an actor at the Gaslight Theatre in Tucson, AZ (We perform musical comedy melodramas. Imagine a really funny cartoon musical put onstage, family-friendly but not just for kids. Think "Finding Nemo" meets "Monty Python". That’s what we do!). Visit www.gaslighttheatre.info/ for more details.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I also have an Elvis tribute act that’s a whole lot of fun. It’s very different from most "impersonators". It’s not some fat guy in a jumpsuit with big bushy side-burns butchering The King of Rock and Roll’s music on a karaoke machine. We actually use a live band with professional experienced musicians who are completely dedicated to putting on a top-quality show. Also, I don’t do a full on "impersonation". Granted, I put on the clothes, I have the sideburns, and try my best to capture the sound, but there’s still a lot of Robert in there. I think that’s what makes our show truly unique.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In addition, myself and some of my colleagues formed a fun band to play around town. We call ourselves "The Debonairs"- we play mainly rock-a-billy and roots rock with a little swing thrown in. Think Johnny Cash, Elvis, Chuck Berry, Eddie Cochran, and a bunch of old rock-a-billy songs you’ve never heard of but will thoroughly enjoy. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I also own and operate an event production company called Lonely Street Productions, we produce all of the Elvis shows as well as provide a wide array of entertainment options for corporate and private functions. If you ever need some cowboys, clowns, a fairy princess, Santa Claus, a band, a full scale muscial production, or anything else you can think of then drop me a line! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have two websites (in case you’re ever bored!) you can visit www.robertishaw.com, it’s more geared towards the acting side of things, and www.RobertAsTheKing.com is my Elvis fan site, it’s got music samples, video clips, pictures, and lots of other cool stuff to look at.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------If you’re interested in booking, please visit: www.celebratingelvis.com--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I like to meet all sorts of new people so feel free to drop in and say hi. I read every e-mail I get, but don’t be offended if you don’t hear back from me soon, I’ve got a lot of projects I’m juggling right now so I don’t get to spend as much time socializing as I would like to. But I do love getting notes, so don’t hesitate to drop in and say hi!
