I am an artist based in Nashville Tennessee but I am originally from near Manchester in the UK. My paintings consistently represent the power of light (and therefore dark) and how it controls our views both externally and internally; how we see the world, the speed at which our eyes and minds absorb information and colour. The layered quality of my paintings comes from an initial selection of views, figures and objects and how light on each one of these layers affects the next. These layers come in the form of photographs or sketches which I then interpret with various painting techniques onto canvas. My most recent body of work

I am inspired by the latest trends in color and I love to use these colors as strong and striking tonal variations. Smooth pools of paint merge with multiple layers of texture to add a new dimension to the photo sketch images I work from.
