Ever since his first release on Rush Hour in 2007, Sui Generis’ productions have found their way in record bags of techno DJ’s like Derrick May, Kenny Larkin, Juan Atkins, Laurent Garnier, Joris Voorn, John Digweed, Josh Wink, Slam and Funk D'Void. It’s these ‘first wave of techno’ jocks that seem to be particularly attracted to Sui Generis’ productions. And that’s definitely not an insult.
Sui Generis aims at a style that lies between techno and house and should be considered timeless, deep as well as unaware of any hype and trend out there. Needless to say, it was just those elements that had Slam’s Orde Meikle introduce him at Soma where he is now signed for some fresh 2009 releases.
People At Night - Verdict -- Phonica Review:
A rather big record from the mysterious People At Night. And when we say rather we mean very. "Verdict" is one of those techno chuggers that builds up with continuous chord stabs throughout the whole track. The Rejected Rejected tracks or Kerri Chandler's "Bar A Thym" & "Computer Games" are great points of reference. Plus on the flip there's a slightly less banging 'Organ Mix' that's slightly reduced on all levels but equally as lush!
