Sounds Like
When the depth is deep, an attempt at articulation is just insulation from the truth of its nature and all I am left with is, "If you get it you get it and if you don't, you don't"
Combining brains, braun and a palate of excellent melodic ideas, DiMaio comes up with his finest album yet. Because of the instrumental nature of DiMaio's music, there's plenty of room for your imagination to run wild. As both a hard rock shredder and a sculptor of musical concepts, DiMaio stakes out some unique, intriguing musical terrain in the guitar world with Robert DiMaio & The Beauty Junkies."
-Robert Silverstein-Review Editor 20th Century Guitar Magazine
"Beauty Junkies is a great CD with awesome guitar playing by Robert DiMaio. It makes for a great listening experience from begining to end with continuity between the cut's which is something that I rarely find in most modern day CD releases. Enjoy the ride!" -Joe Gastwirt-Mastering Engineer(Jimi Hendrix, Pearl Jam, Larry Carlton, Yes, etc)
Music is infinite, and great musicians like Robert DiMaio know this. His approach to music is completely open, providing a forum for diversity and creativity to thrive. “My music is a reflection of numerous influences and inspirations… You will find rock, funk, soul, blues, jazz, gospel and classical influences in my music. I don’t approach these genres as a purist. I approach them as an inquisitive and excitable tourist.”
This instrumental artist paints his expressions with his guitar, and realizes that his music is part of a bigger picture. Because music is the most important thing in the world to DiMaio, he concentrates his talents on portraying his stories and imagination into everything he creates. DiMaio is truly a musician that pushes the boundaries of genre and imagination. With musical tendencies toward the sounds of Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Eric Johnson, and Stevie Ray Vaughan, DiMaio is still able to forge his own, unique sound within his instrumentals.
DiMaio’s first CD was entitled Deepin the Mystery, released in 2003. His second, Robert DiMaio & The Beauty Junkies, came out in 2007, and is said to feature DiMaio’s best writing and playing to date. He was featured in Guitar Player Magazine and received rave reviews in various other magazines like 20th Century Guitar Magazine for this album. He will also be featured on a compilation from the Bohemian Productions label in the near future. The praises received are most likely due to the high standard that DiMaio holds his music to, as he believes “that music is sacred. It must be treated with respect and everything should serve that philosophy.”
Robert DiMaio and his live band are currently performing around the Asheville, North Carolina area where they reside. DiMaio has been steadily building a local fan base, and has already begun working on the next album. To his fans and audiences, DiMaio says, “Let’s save the music together!” With DiMaio at the forefront, the future of music is promising.

Hi Robert, I invite you to stop by and check out my new song "Silent Moon". Please leave a comment. I would really appreciate the feedback. Have a great week! Johnny.
Here's an overdue thank-you for the add ~ much appreciated. Love the album ... great musicianship, and a great sense of both craft and humor! :) Part of me has always wanted to be able to pull off an instrumental album, but I doubt I'll ever have the chops ... thus, I stick to plain ol' rock and/or roll... :) Anyway, great stuff, and thanks for adding me.

"The Sweet Hollywaiians have probably the best feel for this 20's music of any string band working today. They manage the rare feat of sounding relaxed even when their playing is hot, are top notch musicians with tasteful arrangements and a full, rich, warm sound.Plus, they have a nice gamut of tunes, from King Nawahi to Giovanni Vicari to Bobby Leecan. See them live, if you can, for an unforgettable experience. If you can't, buy their Cds!" ~ Terry Zwigoff
