At the age of seven, his uncle gave him an LP of Walter Carlos' SWITCHED ON BACH, which ignited a life-long love affair with classical music.  In the midst of his classical training, as a student at The Manhattan School of Music, Mr. Fertitta was invited to join the internationally renowned touring company Cirque du Soleil.  His artistry was featured in their show Dralion. During this time, he was also featured on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.  Highlights of 2007-2008 include participating in the New York Early Music Festival, being selected by the Royal Opera House Covent Garden to participate in their Jette Parker Young Artists auditions, and performing at Carnegie Hall with the Orchestra of St. Luke’s, under the baton of Maestro Ton Koopman.  In addition, Mr. Fertitta performed with Danish performance artist, Lilibeth Cuenca Rasmussen, at NYC's Renwick Gallery, and has been invited to repeat the performance at Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin in June 2008.  He recently performed the role of Tolomeo in Handel’s Giulio Cesare with the Hudson Opera Theater, The Opera Company of Brooklyn, and The One World Symphony, with whom he also performed the role of David in Handel’s Saul.  He created roles for the world premiers of Edward Ficklin’s Mass as well as his opera Looking Back.   A versatile chamber musician, Mr. Fertitta’s recent performances include concerts featuring music of Schubert, as well as performances with The New York Consort of Viols, in programs exploring the works of William Byrd.  He was the alto soloist in Pergolesi's Magnificat and other works, in performance with The Queen's Chamber Band.  He was a featured artist for inaugural performances at The Hoosick Festival, and has also been a featured participant of The Boston Early Music Festival.
