Electric guitar and bass have been my passion for many years but more recently they have taken a back seat to a long closeted passion for percussion.
Music
I really enjoy making just about any kind of music, including classic rock, southern gospel, contemporary Christian, blues, funk, swing, bluegrass, latin, jazz, folk and pop. It's all good if the songs are good!

About me:
As a wee lad, barely out of the womb, wrapped in rags, eyes still closed and lips eagerly searching for a grip on mama's nipple, the young Bob was left "bobbing," helpless and alone, at the bank of the Mississippi River, in a plastic laundry basket lined with a handle-tie garbage bag - to save him from what would have otherwise been certain doom.
Days later, when he was found by the Queen of Hearts, his basket snagged in a raft of driftwood logs and stalled by the bank, he was hoarse from crying, cold and blue from the river's frigid water, swollen with mosquito bites and horribly burned by the blazing sun.
The Queen of Hearts, being the kind, noble and good woman that she was, devoted her life to nurturing the helpless waif back to health, a favor for which she can never be fully repaid.
So if you hear Bob's scream, or his wailing cry, a lonely broken voice calling from afar, remember the river's turbid icy water, the sun's scorching fiery heat, and the permanent scarring and damage that was so cruelly inflicted upon the poor helpless lad by the swamp mosquitoes as he lay helpless, stranded at the river's edge.
Lawd, have Mercy!
What can I say? I've got a beautiful wife and a great family, a good job, decent health, and a lot of music in my life. Is there much more to ask for?
OK yes there is. So if I win the lottery I'll spend a lot of it, or at least try! But it really ain't "stuff" that makes you happy, it's the way you feel. Good health, a good attitude, good friends, good music, and good food; if you've got all that then the rest of it is just the icing on the cake.
Some photos taken October 10 at Second Street Music Hall, Gadsden Alabama, while sitting in on percussion with the great bluzman and Rockin Camel recording artist from Baton Rouge, Kenny Acosta, and before that, sitting in with Kenny at the Blue Parrot in Guntersville, Alabama.
Who I'd like to meet: Other musicians, songwriters and arrangers. Also, anyone in North Alabama looking to add congas and/or percussion for a gig or a session.
