Robert Lovett loves texture. Texture of all kinds, and his career reflects this.
Considering himself just a country boy at heart, his roots are in small town Texas, where he studied under Bluegrass legends Alan Munde and Joe Carr. Then he took on the task of classical guitar and music theory at MTSU. Armed with this knowledge and experience, Robert made his way to Nashville, where he took work teaching guitar, bass and banjo. In a short time, he found himself immersed in the industry, not only as a fine musician, but as an artist and songwriter.
Then Knoxville called...and a move east brought new inspirations along with new bandmates. Combining all the diverse musical textures he'd come to love, Robert Lovett now has a distinct home, musically, as an emerging Americana artist. Still teaching, he joined forces with banjoist, Edward Wing and formed the Tennessee RiverDogs. With his debut release, "My Horse Is Drunk", Robert's abilities also caught the attention of banjo great, Wade Hill, with whom he regularly performs on "Wade's World", a popular locally produced tv program featuring local and regional artists. It was with Hill that Lovett released, "90 Proof Hank," a nod to his roots and a tribute to the great Hank Williams, Sr. This garnered first place for Robert in the 'Hank Days Festival Singer Songwriter Competition', held annually in Knoxville.
Recorded and engineered by Markus Stadler at Bumpin Heads Studio in Madison, Tennessee, Robert Lovett's newest release, "Keep On Workin" has been met with acclaim by media and hs is currently touring in suport of the cd. He continues to gather fans with his imaginative songwriting, direct and heartfelt vocal and extrordinary musicianship.

We're also playing at The Pilot Light in old city Knoxville the next day at 10:00 pm Sunday night. We're opening for Wild Mountain Nation and I think it should be an awesome show!
