Robert Lurie is the author of "No Certainty Attached," a biography of Australian songwriter Steve Kilbey (of the band the Church) to be released by Verse Chorus Press in 2008. Lurie is also a musician, having recorded a number of solo projects in the 1990s. In addition to his own work, he co-wrote tracks, co-produced and played guitar on three Solyoni albums: "Prairie Monsters", "The Princess Market", and the upcoming "Kenesaw Mountain Landis." He currently lives in Tempe, AZ with his wife, dance choreographer Harper Piver.
Hi Robert. Thanks for the acceptance. Thought I'd come straight to the source to ask about the SK biography. Any news on its publication? Can't find any recent updates about it online. I'm really looking forward to it! Cool tunes, by the way. Cheers! Dan.
I just had a snail call me to wish you a happy birthday. Reginald directed the call and I think he was a little confused. so, imagine in a snail voice . . . happy birthday lobster, I'm a snail.
Just dropping an update- me and Erik's band won Battle for the Boro (the battle for the bands in Statesboro with 21 bands) and we just got booked at the Masquerade in Atlanta on the 24th of May so things are going really good for us. Hope things are as good for you Lurie, keep in touch.
'tis a sad day for luminary lobster icons, 'tis a happy day for love. I hear a lot of noise wafting from silly mountain- I bet we'll hear it in NC in May. Happy four years. :)
Have not dropped by for some time now, finishing HSC exams and other trying tasks, but here I am again. You've probably been busy wrapping up your book, working, and judging by your pic, enjoying your family to the max! Good on you, it's nice to see a big, genuine smile from the heart.
If you have a moment, stop by and listen to my new tracks. Don't know if they're quite up your alley but I'd like to share them with you anyway.
It's peanut butter jelly time, peanut butter jelly time, peanut butter jelly time Where he at Where he at Where he at Where he at There he go There he go There he go There he go Peanut butter jelly Peanut butter jelly Peanut butter jelly Peanut butter jelly Do the peanut butter jelly, peanut butter jelly, Peanut butter jelly with a baseball bat Peanut butter jelly with a baseball bat
not one, not two, but three cats miss you tonight. two out of three remain vocal in their support of the beard. one remains vocal but he just wants food.
I, Robert Lurie, do hereby show my cleanly shaven chin to all those on the internet who wish to see it.Stay tuned for the upcoming installment of The Return of the Beard, the feature presentation that makes cats go crazy with delight.
Indeed my good Doctor! For one who has such rich knowledge of my origins, you should know that even though you have detected me on this crude, human-construct forum, I have jumped back into the past, so that at last... in the future...I shall have my revenge!
I filled out a survey the other day that had the usual "Have you seen Donnie Darko" and "Did you ever watch the O.C." questions on it. Thought of you (question no. 1). I'm holding out for an autographed copy of your book!
Rob, I know what you mean. There’s this place - this cathedral - where it’s impossible to need anything other than faith’s promise. If I stray, this need becomes impossible. Love your heartfelt songs.
Marko
Rob is most awesome and I love him more than a pea loves a carrot, more than peanut butter loves jelly, and even more than the doughboy loves iggy's sweet mist.
Here's to three years of lobster, lovecat, elbows, potatoes, bumble bees, babe the blue ox,and a newly found collection of hugs. May Iggy dance his streamlined fandango and may Doughboy always smell of frosting.
i dont know what to do about sarah. I just know that i am happy that you no longer have scary pics up and that your kind face has reappeared. You do have such a kind face. even if you do look a lil pouty here. ;)
miss you, robbie.
I find your wide neck, striking alienesque features, and medieval yet futuristic fashion sense stunning. Some say you're the bee's knees. Others wonder about what sort of miraculous factory could have formed such a creature. Personally, I just swoon.
